In the Sony trailer check out 1:26 just after Winston says “let’s get to work” and before Peter says “can I be of any help”. You see the back of a head that could be Rick. He is working on a film called “Shrunk” that’s a sequel to “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”.

I disagree. Afterlife was such a lovely coda to the original story and tribute to Harold/Egon, giving the character the closure he needed to move on.
A movie all about family that ended in a hug. It doesn't get any more bookended than that.
Agreed. Egon/Harold has been given a right proper send-off. He will ALWAYS be with the franchise in heart, but at this point, bringing him back would feel like a gimmick, as well as disrespectful.

Dan Ackroyd has been trying to write another Ghostbusters movie, since the 90s, but couldn’t produce something that everyone liked. For them to come back and support these new ones, you know it means a lot. They may have been in the 2016 movie, but they weren’t Ghostbusters, so for me, those were just the actors doing cameos. Here though, they are fully invested. That is a very good sign.
An international trailer was just released. It’s even better then this one. Maybe also worth checking out because of new footage.

Bill Murray lookd like he is in two scenes in the trailer l think l saw him in a third scene in the first ghostbusters empire trailer so l don't think his role is as small as afterlife je looks like he is at the end against the main ghost villlian or giving snappy line at the end

The hype is REAL for this one! It looks so good, Janine looks great suited up! I love that they brought back Walter Peck(the APA douche from the first two movies) and my guy SLIMER is back! One thing I hope to see is Rick Moranis reprising his role as Louis Tully(even if it's for one scene, although I doubt it).

Sigourney only made a brief appearance in the end credits scene in Afterlife. Rick is back into acting now but only theatre productions.. nothing large scale.

Ernie Hudson wasnt included in the animation (the Real Ghostbusters) because he didn't sound enough like Ernie Hudson for the studio 😳
None of the original Ghostbusters were included in the cartoon. Hudson was the only one that applied and was turned down for the more popular Arsenio Hall.
And yet, when Bill first saw the cartoon, his initial reaction was "why do I sound like Garfield?"

The previous movie was so awesome.
It took years and years to get sequels greenlit. Now they've got a second sequel but without much rumours or leaks from either films.
I've always felt like the passing of Harold Ramis may have been the push that caused Bill Murray to finally come back to the franchise. Murray twiddled his thumbs for so long on script draft after script draft, turning them down one after the other for years, and even going though that period where he DIDN'T say no, Sony said run with it, they started looking at casting the film (back when, according to Dan Ackroyd, the 3rd film was going to pick up from after the video game left off in present day where there were franchises all over the country and a new team was taking over the head branch while being trained by the originals,) and then Murray turned that script down. Fast forward to Harold Ramis dying, Murray making peace with him before Ramis passed away, and now Murray's in the Ghostbuster movies again. IMO, I feel like that death may have pushed him to rejoin the franchise.
If I remember correctly, Bill Murray was in GB2016 due to contract or some other reason that almost forced him to make an appearance.
It was not by choice.

Bill Murray had a huge fight with Harold Ramis and refused to do a Third Ghostbusters with him, he only agreed to Afterlife appearance as Peter Venkman because Ramis was no longer with us, The cameos that they had in Answer the call were not even the same characters and the movie did not pay homage to the first two at all

It's a great movie where it is a reality due to egon passing and you have his grandchildren take his passion on a new ride. If Jaby got his movie with him than the female ones would be a nostalgia bait having the og take a more prominent role instead of the second team
Rick gave up acting to take of his kids. He also has said he does not want to be in ghostbusters again.
He does the occasional VA role from time to time. I've heard he came out of retirement and is working on a movie called "Shrunk", which is apparently a nee installment in the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" franchise. It's possible that Dan and the others convinced him to return for one or two scenes or a cameo.

What happens with the 10-15 year turnaround, on bad movies now being considered good, is that all the kids that grew up watching the bad movie grow up and so popular opinion can change.

They did say that this movie will pull heavy inspiration from RGB. So it's likely Garraka was imagined with villains like him and the Boogeyman or the Grundel in mind.

There will never be a crossover with the female Ghostbusters movie, because Murray, Akroyd and Hudson played different characters in that movie. It was not set in the same universe as the original Ghostbusters movie. Sure, they could do a dumb multiverse thing, but honestly, everyone hated that movie, it was just simply bad and not funny. No need to bring it back.
I just saw it and it was lame, the story was weak.
No the 2016 version was and still pure garbage. I pray that it will never circle back to that train wreck. What I'm still having hopes for if they keep on going for another 10 years eventually hopefully we'll have the extreme Ghostbusters.

Looks like crap, more junk that doesn't resemble even remotely the tone and humor of the original two films.
When was the last time you actually watched the first movie? Within the first couple of minutes, it is ALL horror. No comedy at all. We get a tense scene with a dramatic score and a big scare.
There are SO many drama or horror elements in the original.
- library opening
- Zuul's first appearance
- Onionhead meets Peter
- Peck's visit
- Dana gets possessed
- Louis gets chased
Pretty much from this point on, it is much more horror and drama than comedy. Yes, it still has that familiar Ghostbusters comedic flair at various points. But I would hazard a guess of 80-85% drama/horror to comedy.
For that matter...have you even seen the original trailer? It was also pretty horror-driven. The thing almost starts out like a Nightmare on Elm Street trailer. And, just as the movie, it has a mix of horror and comedy.
Go watch the original trailer and then watch this one again. And tell me just how incredibly different they are.
@@KnightJRL blah blah blah. It was a slob comedy first and foremost, a direct descendant of Animal House, Stripes, Meatballs and Caddyshack. I was there, I saw the movie the weekend it opened. I grew up with the original SNL and SCTV and it was in that same irreverent vein, even with the supposed "horror" elements. I don't remember being horrified at any point in either the original movie or the sequel.
Why are you reacting to NEW LAME STUFF that almost everybody has seen because it was MAINSTREAM? STOP IT GET SOME HELP.
Instead react to movies that were not plastered all over mainstream media and promoted etc.
