We use to think there was no way we would ever go on an Oasis Class Ship and now overall they are probably our favorite class of ship.
These are cruise tips and tricks that we've picked up and we have made mistakes on our numerous cruises, and I hope you can learn from us.
It doesn’t matter what cruise line you’re going on these are all applicable. Whether it’s Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity, Princess, or even a higher-end line like Silverstar.

🚢 ❤😊 We were fortunate enough to sail on the Beauty in Dec 2021... with only maybe 2000 guests due to Covid Protocols in place... let me say BEST EVER experience.... first time on an Oasis class...& we were "HOOKED" spoiled, in awe, and had the most wonderful experience.... the most incredible cruise... loved every minute & yes, we felt so lucky that the Allure was not at full capacity then, but we also sailed on her again a year later & she was at full capacity for that sailing .... but, the ship 🚢 NEVER felt FULL .... and we had an absolute BEST cruise again..... love ❤️ Oasis class on Royal!!!
Went on Allure in March of this year, I expected it to be like 10-30 families but I was so wrong. It wasn't crowded at all except for the pool on sea days
Just returned on a trip to Alaska with the Norwegian Encore, big ship with just over 4,000 passengers and we found the crowds and the lines to be unnerving!
And service in all of the food venues was unusually slow. Food quality does not seem to be quite where it was in the past on other cruises.
I'm guessing inflation has put a dent in the quality that we may be used to on these ships. Food was still good, but just not like it used to be. I would call it fair to good.
I was of all Ships from Oasis Class,i love this Class so much..my favourite is the Wonder of the Seas from Royal Caribbean international
Sometimes, it did feel crowded. At Trivia, people were sitting on the floor and out past the room, and a number of folks left. You have to make reservations for most evening entertainment or forget it; it's full. With the cut-out in the center of the ship, it doesn't give as well of a sense of being air-conditioned as those without the cut-out.
It was my trip on the Oasis that started me going back to cruising on smaller ships. I used to believe they wouldn't measure up (due to a terribly disappointing time on the Vision of the Seas), but instead found them more enjoyable. I felt like my presense mattered to that staff. They got to know us, and we weren't one of a ton of bodies. After MANY years of cruising, I now avoid these bigger and bigger ships. I realized that's just not my style.
I completely understand and on top of it, everyone wants the brand new ships, and while I love the shows and I like the things, the pricing on the mega ships has started to get out of hand.
I booked the new ICON when it came out for 9 months later, I thought it would give them enough time to figure it out and by then it would be good. I have a regular balcony, nothing special. It’s 3 x the price today. My balcony would cost close to 8k dollars for two people.
So I get what you are saying, we love to cruise and I will continue to and give my opinions, but they maybe on some of the orders ships for a while lol 😂

I have never cruised during spring break but that would makes sense the ships would be filled.

Just got off the oasis of the seas at the end of June and yes, the ships are too crowded. Nowhere to sit at the windjammer and lineups for everything.

3rd person to say this to me today. Never sailed on a Oasis class ship in the summer. I could see if they push the double occupancy to 6500 the ships would feel full.
My 3 sailings all were around 5500 on the ship.
1000 people makes a big difference.

We just got off Allure of the Seas and it was horrifically crowded. I’ve been on sister ship Oasis twice and Freedom twice. This was awful. Won’t do it again because it was impossible to enjoy. Terribly disappointed.
Sailed on Harmony of the Seas in Aug 2022 and it was VERY crowded! The buffet always had lines and having “Any Time” dining in the main dining rooms was pointless as there was always a long wait just for a table to open up for dinner. While the ship itself is beautiful, I can’t say I’d willingly sail on an Oasis Class ship again.
Allure about a week after the lift and it was 1/3 full. LOVED IT. Just did Allure at full capacity and it was still lovely!
They feel crowded to me was on one recently

You don't feel over crowded on the ship, but 6000 people trying to take the same excursions ..........
And that is if you are lucky, it’s always fun when there is 6 ships in port and it’s 25,000 people trying to do basically the same excursions.

6,000 passengers is a lot of people and that’s not including the crew.
It is, but the ships are huge…..
As I mentioned we have been on ships with 3k passengers and they felt more crowded.
Royal imo overall does a great job of crowd control.

That is BS. I have been in a lots of big ships and they are very crowded, with lines everywhere. From the pool , jacuzzi, MDR, for the shows etc etc.
It’s not BS - maybe that was YOUR experience but it’s not mine or a lot of other people’s experience.
I have been on 30 plus cruises and we just got off the Caribbean Princess and that ship felt horribly over crowded compared to an Oasis Class ship.
People are going to be by the pool on a sea day, yep, it’s not going to be a ghost town, but we have never had trouble finding a seat on an Oasis Class ship.
@@JaysonJudson , wasn’t just the sea days but everyday days , big lines even to the main dining and snacks places, big lines for the shows, elevators long waiting, everything we have to wait and wait. And it was our experience. We went on independence of the seas, allure, sympohy of the seas many more and our favorite was odyssey of the seas , lots of things to do and not big lines… what you are saying doesn’t make sense the more people the more crowded, it’s common sense
@@stevemorris6790 and I have been on many different ships and yours and my experience isn’t similar.
Most people in the comments disagree with what you are saying also, so it’s not common sense, just because a ship is bigger and hold more passengers doesn’t mean it’s more crowded.
I look at the numbers, and they actually tell a different story, the quantum class has a worse passenger to space ratio then the Oasis Class, and the Caribbean Princess which I referenced in my other post has a much worse passenger / space ratio then either classes of ships.
It’s a small ship with 3200 passengers.
Also it would depend on when you travel, we don’t cruise on the holidays, and typically the summer.
Oh we have also been on the Odyssey and felt it was more crowded then the Allure, Harmony and Symphony.
Now if you want to compare the Oasis Class with the Solstice class from Celebrity, no comparison, Celebrity is hands down less crowded.
I’ve just come off Freedom of the Seas and it only felt crowded on Sea day. We’ll be going on Oasis in January.
We like the Oasis class because if you feel crowded, many times the Central Park area, dazzles, the aft of the ship near the flow riders and the front Solarium area will feel much less crowded on sea days and you are able to get away from people.

No. Because I prefer the "old treasures" of the Vision and the Radiance class. I prefer their light flooded atrium to a "Royal Promenade" or a park in the middle. As I do not need "thrills" but love "slow cruising" the familiar small members of the fleet are my favorites. 😉❤️👍❤️

No, the Oasis ship is not too crowded. There is so much going on and the activities are throughout the ship. I love taking the grandchildren of all ages on a cruise on Royal Caribbean. After this summer, I will have been on 17 cruises and loving each one. I have also been on the Allure. No problem.

Been on Oasis and the Allure and both were very accommodating for the large crowds. Enjoyed them both so much.
I agree, first cruise on an oasis class I remember thinking oh this is going to be awful and then I remember standing in front of the ship, on the Harmony and I didn’t see a single person for 20 minutes.
There are a lot of places like that on those ships, it changed my mind really quickly.

I’ll take the spot of all the people that think it’s too crowded. I’ve been on 30+ cruises. NEVER a problem with crowds. Maybe the line at embarkation to get on but that’s it.
Queen mary 2 is big, not much smaller than the Icon class , but has half the passengers. , and i think it has a more Elegant and classy interior. Oh that main dinning hall❤. I think , going with cunard , brings a kind of joy fealing. And to think that the company is 180 years old gives a museum feeling. The paintings and every detail is refined to the last bit. Cunards ships are calm and suffisticaded. They also bring the tradition of Old Cunard Oceanliners🎉.

Just got home from oasis perfect day cruise. There is so much going on I never really felt too cramped except watching the belly flop contest which makes sense. Awsome cruise!!
I’ve been on oasis, allude, harmony, and symphony ots and I can assure you that only some places have a large amount of people such as the windjammer and sometimes the boardwalk.
I just got off Harmony this past Saturday and it wasn’t over crowded, but the pools are way too small for sea days. The pool temp gets hot tub warm and there are just way too many people in the pools to make it enjoyable. Other than that I loved my cruise on Harmony.
I was on Oasis of the Sea the ending of June and it was very crowed. The pool was standing room only.
I’ve did oasis mariner and independence of the seas and allure and wonder I’m going on utopia and icon
Been on Allure, Oasis and Wonder each a couple times. Love the bigger ships. The only times it feels crowded is dinner time at the elevators. We use the steps during the dinner time rush hour!!
I loved Oasis of the Seas. I had the best salad ever at a Restaurant beside the Park. It was so fun
There are passenger-space ratio statistics available about all cruise ships. In most cases the ratios are close to the same on all of them regardless of the ship's size.

Been on Oasis of the seas 3 times. Each time had a fantastic holiday. You will never see every single person on these ships.
They do an excellent job overall for crowd control, it’s very impressive.

Agree. Cruised on the Oasis of the Seas and the only time time it felt a bit crowded was during Promenade parades or the Windjammer on sea days but other then that it's amazing how spread out everyone was. We enjoyed our cruise very much!
But like? What if there is a storm and mega waves? I cant go on ship knowing that titanic happened and storms and megawaves are a thing.
ships tend to know where the rough waters are and avoid them
The Titanic happened over 100 years ago and had nothing to do with a storm.
100 years ago we didn’t have Penicillin, a basic drug that changed and saved millions of lives.
Technology and advanced in predicting weather, radar etc has come 1000 times more advanced since the Titanic.

Been on the Allure in 2021. Very big indeed. Doesn't feel overcrowded at all.
I've be on the Allure, the Odyssey, and recently the Wonder of the Seas. The only time it felt crowded was on the final disembarkation day. Everyone knew it was their last shot at the Windjammer buffet, and that spot was jammed! Otherwise, the ships never felt crowded; superb experience in every way! 🤟
I only sail on Oasis class ships. I've been on Oasis x2, Allure, Harmony, Symphony & will be on Wonder of the Seas on December 3. I have never experienced overcrowding on any of my sailings. They're great ships to vacation on & there's so much to do.
We agree, we didn’t always think that way, and then we went and experienced the ship and they are amazing.
You will never see and do everything on an Oasis Class ship.
