Love how you always look into the dresses in your reviews to see their construction. Gives me great ideas on how to finish the dresses I make for my Licca dolls since I got no background in fashion whatsoever. Keep the reviews coming! We’re living for it x
She is amazing ,I wish Mattel could give us two aa dolls one in a darker skin tone in the collection but that won't happen ,Another great review Suresh
Yay! Another doll that I have in my collection. I love this doll. I don't know why she's not as popular. Very under rated. But she's one of my favourites.
Hi I have watched all yours unboxing videos how you take your barbies out of their box, you are right about take them out of their box because its more fun.I still have some barbies in their boxes too and some out .and I cant wait to take them out too and put them on a display glass. I like at the end of your videos when you say,me and barbie we are gonna see what new york await for us.LoL,Its sound so exiting because is new york city and I think there are many things to do.I like fashion to by the way.ok thanks for sharing your barbies with us.
Suresh, I wouldn't think of purchasing another Silkstone now without watching your channel. You're like the Siskel and Ebert of Barbie reviewers. I just bought a Red Dress (along with Holiday Hostess Happy New Year - with the $30 first quarter Club Reward) She is so lovely, pictures do not do her justice. The vividness of the red satin against the chiffon...she just glows! To think I almost passed on this little beauty! (Btw - Miss Hostess also has more charm in person. Like a Las Vegas Trophy Wife. I love her, too!)
Suresh NY I wish you luck then..she's super pricey but totally worth it..other AA silkies that totally worth checking out are the Evening Gown and the Sunday Best...
She does cost some pretty penny. In fact, the dolls from that particular year (2008) are generally pricey, but really beautiful. Her sister the Preferably Pink cost just as much as her and the Haut Monde cost anywhere from 200-250. I was lucky enough to get them at a reasonable price...
im rewatching all of ur silkstone videos out of nostalgia (and so i can decide what doll to get next) and im so glad you pointed out that there arent that many dolls of colour in the bfmc line. i really want to get an aa silkstone but ive noticed there really arent that many!! which is quite disappointing :(
You are absolutely correct. I hate when you get doll clothes with patterns just In front and lacklustre manufacturing in the back of the piece! Suresh is absolutely correct in the fact that Mattell and whichever company your doll comes from will start cutting costs in the areas you don't see if you don't remove the doll from the box. It's ridiculous to pay all that money and never be able to fully inspect your purchase...you wouldn't stand for it in anything else so come on people make a stand for beautiful, All Round, doll couture!
You have wonderful taste in 1/6 scale figures. Little Red Dress Barbie is one of the best silkstone bfmc dolls made because the vintage face still looks modern on an African American doll (unlike it does on the white girls). Also I agree with you about the articulation. Exposed joints make figures look like cheap junk. I hope Mattel (and other 1/6 figure makers) will stop producing exposed joint figures asap. Thank God for the well made, sturdy, non-articulated figures. Peace bro!! Thanks for the great reviews!!!
Agree with more variety in the BFMC -- Asian elegant Chinoiserie would also be nice. Your videos are informative and delightful and relaxing haha. Those dolls are great escapes to a beautiful world. = ) Question though? If you were to create and develop the Silkstone line what fashions would you explore?
Thank you! If I was to create a Silkstone line--I would explore more of the new interpretations of the original 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s fashions that we all love in the Silkstones. I would also like to add an international flare--just just European. Perhaps more South Asian, South East Asian, Middle Eastern, African (all areas), South American, etc. I feel they are quite magnificent as is but if I had to push, I would say that a small update wouldn't hurt :)
@@SureshNYC I would love to see more vintage lines from 1920s-1940s. There is definitely missed potential. And of course I would love many more skin tones for the silkstone lines.
I'm completely with you on offering more dolls of colour. I have one AA (50th Anniversary) and an Asian doll (Red Moon, I think) all that was created up to a certain point before I stopped collecting Silkstone. Come on Mattel, we definitely can acknowledge women (and Ken...come on!) of colour in Haute style! 🤔
IKR?! Research has shown that Caucasian dolls sell the most but that's also because they're the ones that are MADE the most! So...duh. In other news, I can't wait for you to start collecting Silkstones again :-D xoxo Suresh
Great review. I also wish there were more DOCs in the BFMC. I used to really love this line. But lately I'm kind of getting a bit tired of it. I find that there isn't enough variety in terms of style and even in how the dolls themselves look. RT: Carlyle Nuera's Harlem Theatre Collection is the only thing from Mattel that is giving me LIFE!
i dont like this doll until you made a review of her.. she's actually gorgeous... you're right the skin tone is so beautiful.. the face and the hair the hat. I'm litteraly out of words to say!!! for me i think silkstonedolls and their clothes are way better than model muses' ..the traditional hand is such a darling specially Delphine's hands.. love it and love the way her one hand is on her waist.. so finesse . i think she's the only silkstone that has that sort of arm pose. bummer at the back of the dress though.. I'll definitely start unboxing my dolls soon... good thing with silkstone is you can put it back with its ribbons like it was never unboxed
Yea I agree--I love love love their hands! There are some other Silkstones with the hand on the hip pose, like in the Russian collection. But they are not very common. I also love that pose! And yea, the great things about Silkstones is that you can put them back in their box without any problems! Thanks for watching and glad you like this gorgeous doll now :) xoxo
Huh. I didn't pay attention before, but the Silkstone body is a classic TnT playline! Perhaps it's a bit taller? But no doubt about it, that's a TnT body. I like them better than the later play line bodies simply because you can design for them better. Lovely outfit. Interesting historical note: That type of chiffon used to be called "crepe chiffon", lo back in the days when I was sewing. The little texturizing was a big deal back in the 60's because it was fresh and new, unlike the "lawn" and regular chiffon that our mothers had.
Hello! Yes I believe it is a TnT body! I think a touch taller. I don't have any TnT bodies to compare to but I've seen some reviews online. And yes, you're right--this was called crepe chiffon and in many parts of the world, it is still called that actually. Whenever I travel to Europe or Asia, that's how they refer to it. Thanks, as always, for sharing! xoxo Suresh
I noticed that the body type on original Silkstone body looks like a taller Shani body from the 90's. Look at the dolls of the world and the birthstones Barbie bodies. It looks like TNT but the bust is slimmer and waist is smaller.
I'm glad to hear it! I know that a lot of collectors love the articulated bodies on the new Silkstones and I'm glad. Can't please everybody, right?! xoxo
I fell in love with my “Little Ted Dress” too except I call her Blondie. I love that they gave her a pillbox hate but she really didn’t need it because of her barrel curls. I thought that maybe a red satin clutch (handbag) would have been nicer instead of the hat. One of the things that I was hoping is that Mattel would have created an African-American Ken. Question, How do we convey to Mattel that we would like better quality for the Collection dolls?
little red dress was always my least favourite from the collection , she never really caught my attention. the dress is so cute by itself! I really like the earrings but shame that she is the only one with them. now to watch this video another 5 times 😅 thanks for the lovely review :)

Ren Yambao thanks! Glad you enjoy them. 💖

Thanks! I agree, too! Maybe if we keep asking, we will get... :) xoxo
Yay! Another doll that I have in my collection. I love this doll. I don't know why she's not as popular. Very under rated. But she's one of my favourites.
I agree!! She's TOTALLY underrated. So so pretty IRL :) Yay glad you have her! xoxo Suresh
Yes I agree with your critique of the dress. I have her and she’s in the box, so I never noticed. She’s gorgeous!
what a beautiful doll!!!!congratulations 🎊 👌 😍 💕 💜 ♥
Thank you!!!!! :) xoxo
Great vid girl! I agree what's the point in buying these beauties to keep them in a box, in a closet somewhere... 💙💙💙
Hay gurl haaaay! TY! IKR...To each their own I guess :) xoxo
Suresh NY agreed! 💙

another great video. love how u pointed out the where they didn't do such a great job on.
Thanks Evan! I'm doing Boucle Beauty next which I know you have, too! :)
I've always adored her natural makeup :)
Yesssss :)
your collection is incredibly beautiful!
Thank you sweet thang ~ :) xoxo
Suresh NY You're welcome sweet thang ;)

Haha aww thank you gorg! Omg yes, this Silkie is TDF tbh. Happy holidays to you! xoxo
I love your channel and this doll. What do u do w/ the boxes once u take the dolls out?
Thanks so much! I keep the boxes in a trunk because I swap out my dolls on display and like to put them back in their original boxes.
Thank you for detailed review! That is one of the reasons why I subscribed! Plus you have an amazing style!
Aww thanks so much! Appreciate the support :)
like that u r giving the info about fabric and stuff...
keep it up 😘
Thanks, glad you like it :)
Wow she is beautiful!! Thank you for the awesome review!!😍😍
She is, indeed!! Thanks for watching! :) xoxo
If you love AA Silkstones, then you should check out the Toujours Couture! That girl is gorgeous!
OMG I knoowwww!!!! She's on my holy grail list omg I diiiieeeee for her :) xoxo
Suresh NY I wish you luck then..she's super pricey but totally worth it..other AA silkies that totally worth checking out are the Evening Gown and the Sunday Best...
Oh great info! Thank you!! Evening Gown has been on my list for a while now. I will add Sunday Best to my (ever-growing) list.
Petrus Nelson Toujours Couture is amazing I'm still trying to find her alittle cheaper but I soon will breakdown an spend the 250 😩

I'm a articulated doll collector so I'm loving articulated silkstones, but I feel bad for other collectors
hope maybe they sell both types
