Hi, Gary. Great video, and congrats on the goodies! I'm hoping that you're still willing to answer questions, because I had saved one of your recent programs (from October or November of last year) and it gave me an amazing boost in depth (about 40%). It opened up some of my old sites that I thought were done. That was on v4.2. When I updated to v5, that same program gives me no greater depth than any of the others. They all seem to get about the same depth, now, and nowhere near what that program did. Any ideas on what might have happened?
I would suggest using program 6 Deep as your starting program for custom programs as it uses earlier filters.
This should make your machine appear to be more "Punchy" but will not be as silent on difficult Iron targets.

I have a question about the program #2. GMP on the XP Deus. Is it possible to tweak it so it ignores stones with high mineral content without ruining the purpose for that program?

The GMP program should ignore hit rock as the ground balance is set at 90.
Can you describe what stoned you are wanting to reject as they may possibly be like coke.

As for me taking the ORX to OZ , i would but its looking like the Holiday is going to be canceled soon . Damn.
I will re book it for next year when all this damned Coke i mean Lilt , i mean Irn Bru , i mean Corona Virus shit is all done with .
I see that Gray Ghost make headphones for the Deus . I think i will get them for the Winter windy Months . Not keen on the WS5 or Buds. Not worried about ear infections . When on the beaches i get flooded ears with sweat using my Minelabs in the hot Summer Months.
If we get a Summer and if we get any tourists then i will use the ORX on your settings on a nice beach and hunt some Gold rings . Actually i will anyway . Got an idea where to go .

Hi Gary. Great Video again. Just one Question. Is there any idea from XP about a bigger HF coil? Wish to have the choice like with the black coils.

I have recently purchased the eliptical coil and went out with it last weekend, I noticed on part of the field it stopped giving a ground reading? Also noticed that the coil stopped picking up ground info through the audio, still made a couple of finds on that part of the field tho. I can't say I have noticed this with low freq coil. Is this likely to be a settings issue with hf coil or is it just horrendous minerilisation that it can't deal with? Searching in hot program.
Sounds more like low mineralisation, next time try lowering your reactivity a touch, this may bring the feedback in again.
Great video Gary. Looks like we all have a lot of time ahead watching UA-cam so I will looking at yours, fishing, 4 wheel drive and of course looking for Bigfoot videos.

Gary, me again. Can i please ask you, when i use my Deus in the field on a club dig i get an awful lot of interferance from someone who has a Equinox detector. They dont have to be close either. Im having to move quite away away from them for the noise to go. Is there anything i need to do to my Deus. Xx

You can frequency shift your Deus or ask them to change the frequency range or noise cancel.
Only some Equinox will interfere with the Deus, not all.

Got permission before the dig it up. An old drive in movie theater and we were out once and finding some old coins but I’m having problems with pull tabs there’s so many. Any ideas? I have the xp onX thanks Gary

Hi Gary Ive been spending some time understanding what freq, sens, reac are on the orx and any other machine the only one i am struggling with is Discrimination, some have it set low at 2 or 3, some leave on factory setting 7, but what is disc and how do you know the best number to use?, what is happening by lowering or highring found a great vid that you did on reactivity settings but not disc settings, can you please explain in depth, maybe a vid?
I have just bought a second hand xp Deus lite ,and have been detecting a very long time (1976).I ,ve learnt so much from your videos particularly about target Id .a big thank you for making them .it's a great machine that reminds me a lot of the old c scope promet two in audio disc .great ,cheers.

Hi Gary,got couple questions about the orx,im getting alot of signals reading in the 90's,mostly its deep iron and occasionally it's a coin,buckle or something else non iron.When i watch videos guys Inc yourself get a sweet 70 i rarely do so have to dig most signals..any idea why? Plus when do i have to update it?Many thanks,Andy

Keep your GB at 90, if you are using the black coil turn TX down to 1.
Using Full Tone will give you lots of information.
It's always a good idea to update to the latest version, especially if you are using the MI-6.
Hi gary I know this isnt a recent video. I own a orx with the 11inch x35 coil. And had many great finds with it. But am thinking of getting another coil. 9 round hf coil or 13x11 x35 coil. I wanted to ask you expert opinion thanks

This is only my personal choice but I like the 9" HF.
Here's 2 reasons why
1. I like the fact that the battery is in the lower stem.
2. I like the higher 50Khz option for Roman and Medieval sites as the iron separation is good and it hits harder on the low conductivity targets.
Thanks for the reply gary. Is the hf coil better on smaller targets like the thin hammered and small roman etc. I know we are all on lockdown at the min. I just fancy a new addition to my orx something to look forward to when we can get back out there and hunting again

Yes I do, the elliptical is more of a specialist coil.

The HF coils run higher frequencies up to 59Khz on the round and 80Khz on the elliptical
