Just brought a dewalt flexivolt battery strimmer. It's great for the small maintenance gardens no dramas as long as you remember to charge the batterys the night before 👍👍👍👍
Must be a common fault, mine still fine although the highest setting doesn't seem as high which doesn't get used often so no worries. Cheers and thanks for watching 👍
Nice video Nathan My KM135r Kombi Motor packed up 3 weeks ago was tempted to have a look in side but lease than a year old took it back to the dealer Thanks again
Just like blue Peter 😁 Three years is a good return. We're still on petrol strimmer's at the moment. We are slowly in the process of changing equipment.
As I’ve mentioned before I bought a Stihl HL85 some time ago .. was singing its praises then without warning it just gave up the ghost 👻.. not been dropped or misused .. I’ve taken it back to the dealer as I’m sure it’s under 12 months old …. Luckily my petrol one saved the day … I’ve actually got an old HL75 which I don’t use anymore but would still work fine if I did start it up .. bit Smokey though which I don’t miss …. 🤔👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I have spent a good few thousand pounds in there not so long ago .. they were salivating down their shirts when the old business card popped out …. 😂
I would suggest to take this motor to a repair shop. It should be fairly easy for a mechanic to replace and refit all magnets into proper positions. Or, alternatively, buy a new motor. I would assume that it should be fairly affordable.
Hi, thanks for the comment. I'm fairly sure it's a new motor job and the cost of them for a 3 year old machine I'd buy a new one. This is still running great tho. Cheers 👍
I think once they delaminate you can't replace them, who knows 🤔 good luck with your, possible to test power at connection point from battery to motor? Cheers 👍
Oh dear, battery motors not even lasting 5 years? 😆 Can easily get 10yrs out of a petrol 'engine', just saying 🤣, only messing (que battery fanboys hate). Good fix anyway mate, should get a few more months out of it 😀
I have both, and much prefer the battery tools. I haven't mixed a bottle of 2-stroke for nearly 2 years now. Petrol machines will be phased out eventually anyway.
Hi folks just an update, a year later this strimmer is still working fine after removing the delaminated magnet from the motor

👍 mines running fine still even with the broken magnet removed. Cheers
Good job Nathan. Hope your enjoying your night out.
Cheers 👍 night out was good thanks...I was a good boy😅
Good insight into battery gear👍👍
Cheers 👍 I have no idea what I'm doing with them really...was hoping to find a stone stuck in there to be fair🤣

Shame you had an issue, I've been real lucky so far🤞

Today we're building....🤣 battery strimmers are great for maintenance but heavy work will drain the battery quicker than me on a few pints last night😬
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd still worth looking into. Petrol is getting expensive
I wouldn't be without them, you may have noticed 😅
Still running?
I’ve just had same problem with Msa 200c chainsaw, thanks bud this fix got it working 😮
Hi, yea it's still going strong since this👍hope you get yours sorted

Did the dealer sort it. The hl75 just kept going but same as you I've one that's just too smokey to use, I think I still have it anyway 🤔
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I’m still waiting .. unless you are spending a few thousand they don’t seem to rush …. 😄👍
Always the way, browse some big kit and say you'll let them know when you pick up the 85😅

Have you saved on 2 stoke fuel by having the battery stuff Nathan
Just asking
I used to get through loads of 2 stroke but as I've increased the battery gear over the past 3 years I've definitely used much less👍
No intention to replace the magnets? Is that possible? Mine has no power from going from battery to the machine. Head scratching moment

@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I tried what I can and Im not very good with the multi meter. I have sent it to the shop already.
@@PlantVisionz 🤞 they'll sort it for you
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I hppe so and Im thankful for a very good service centre in my local area
I get 3 years out of my stihl battery strimmers and thats strimming for 2 mower men
I'd be happy with that, paid for themselves no end of times👍
First comment, yay!! 49 to go..😁
👍👍👍spot on..I'll make the comments up to the 50🤣
I use the ego gear, I'd be over the moon if I got 3 years out of it, to be honest I'd be chuffed to bits with 2 years
2/3 Years and they've done enough work in my opinion to start giving some grief. Hope you're enjoying the ego gear. Thanks for watching 👍

🤣 that battery gear is useless 😅😬I get that a bit, next time I'll whack a smokey diesel with a sledgehammer 🤣 take care mate
just stick with petrol tools as they have stood the test of time.
I used to get 2 years on average out of stihl petrol strimmers, I get on average 3 years out of a stihl battery strimmers🤷♂️
I'd be out of the game in a year or 2 if I hadn't started to switch to battery, nothing against petrol tho....still have loads👍
