Thanks for putting this out! I recently read a list online of '44 Science Fiction and Fantasy books to read in 2025!" and the list had more horror than scifi. I was like, "Come on, there's plenty coming out!" One you didn't mention that I'm looking forward to is Luminous by Silvia Park. I also want to add that I love your little flourishes during the blurbs. "thrilling, allegedly," "SF!" XD
There's also Slow Gods by Claire North, a space opera novel due to be published in September, and Halcyon Years, a new standalone by Alastair Reynolds which is expected to come out this year, although the publication date is TBC.
@bookspin oooh Claire North! And a space opera too! That sound great, I shall look out for that. And the Reynolds too, great tips. Cheers Robin, thanks for watching 👀!
"a deep feeling for water, apart from wetness" 🤣Overall, I'm not sure what I'm eager to read from this list, but I must admit that the holiday read about a viral outbreak in Antarctica sounds like fun, albeit derivative.
Adrian Tchaikovsky is rapidly becoming my new Favourite author. I’m currently reading an ARC of Shroud & so far it is a complete page turner!! Beautifully written with a captivating story. I missed out on the book binding sale but I have pre-ordered ‘Bee Speak’. I loved Dogs of war & Bear Head.
My awaited book for 2025 is Daryl Gregory's When We Were Real, a Canterbury Tales-like road trip in a world several years after humanity learns we are living in a simulation.
All the Water in the World was already on my list to purchase. We Lived on the Horizon I will take a closer look at - not sure if it will be a buy or not.
Some sound interesting Shroud by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Future’s Edge by Gareth Powell, The Third Rule of Time Travel by Philip Fracassi and of course Shadows Upon Time by Christopher Ruocchio. And Red God by Pierce Brown but the book doesn't have an exact release date.
It's going to be another thin year for really great SF in 2025, I fear. There are two highlights in Spring though -'Frankenstein Rex' by Adam Roberts and 'Anabasis' by M John Harrison, both of which will probably keep me happy as the lighter nights approach.....
I've just started reading the Tainted Cup by Bennet. Sequel due to come out on April first....🤔🧐 (or he's having us on?) 😂 I'm liking it so far, a pastiche of Sherlock Holmes and Watson in a fantasy world. Provisionally recommended. (just started chapter 1)
Great video with a few interesting books for me, but as a whole, it seems that I‘ve read or at least heard those plots before. And AI of course … which shows the state of current scifi literature … back in the day, the authors dreamt of what could be, and in contemporary science fiction, the authors write about what is, with a little twist here and there. It seems that there are no visionaries anymore. Everything is a remix 😉
Yeah, that's the trouble with living in a science fiction world, with 100 years of science fiction already written. Cheers Michael, thanks for watching 👀!

I laughed out loud at your description of The Dream Hotel! Some of these hyperbolic publisher statements do make a rod for their own back though!

Looking forward to the Tchaikovsky's, Corey, Fracassi and, unmentioned, Red God by Pierce Brown.
Ah Red God, didn't spot that, thanks. Thanks for watching 👀!
I've kind of made my peace with waiting longer for red god. If it is this year it will be late.
@nicktreleaven4119 I have only read (Red?) the first of those. I gather it improves as it goes. Must read book 2.

Sounds good then. Dogs of War is one of my favourites of his. Thanks for watching 👀!
Looking forward to 'When the Moon hits your eye' which sounds intriguing.
It sounds nuts! Or cheesy. 😀 🧀 cheers Glenn, thanks for watching 👀!

The spiders show up far too early in Children of Time to be considered a spoiler. You’re good. 😉
Thank goodness!
'Bee Speaker' comes out on 05 June 2025, as per Bloomsbury Publishing, or on 03 June 2025, as per Head of Zeus. I can't wait!
Ah great, thanks for letting us know. Looking forward to that! Thanks for watching 👀 +
Thanks for the update.

I didn't think Adam has anything out this year. 2026 I think. Cheers Steve, thanks for watching 👀 !
@@SciFiScavenger No sign of a cover design yet, but I've had mine on order at work for months. I think it's due in March....
Think that's out of date. As of a few weeks ago he hadn't written it yet, he thinks it'll be bumped to 2026.
@@SciFiScavenger Doesn't surprise me as the jacket design should have been up by now. Never mind.....! Cheers Jon.

I am singing Tainted Cup to the tune of the Soft Cell classic. Thanks for that. Thanks for watching 👀!

This week The McMurdo Disaster was released, written by some guy called ...Me. (Yes you can ban me now)
Ooh really! That's exciting, congratulations Martin!
Powell's Embers Of War trilogy is very enjoyable.
@@faldorthanks, hadn't heard of it but looks interesting. Sounds like it might appeal to Culture fans
