Excellent vid Jusuh. But on mine, when I put it back on 2H, the RFW Lock is also gone unlike in this vid when the RFW Lock is still on and can use the RFW switch. What could be wrong? I can still use 4H and 2H anytime though.
Hi - great video - thank you! I bought my Ford Ranger today and love it so much. I knew it had an existing fault with the RFW light being on. It is a 2006 2.5 litre diesel model made in Thailand. The vehicle shows the RFW light on all the time in 4h and 2. The car disengages from 4h back to 2wd correctly but the light remains on. The vacuum solenoid doesn't move. Should I just change the sensor by the actuator and the actuator itself? I am assuming the vacuum solenoids nears the brake master aren't normally faulty? The RFW switch on the dash might even be at fault? I don't want to start dismantling things too much and make it worse and the mechanics here in Cyprus don't know much they just say leave it as it is. Any advice appreciated. PS - where do the other vacuum pipes on the aforementioned solenoids go to?
Hey, you can do a check, unplug the hoses from both actuators and start the car. with the rfw light turned on the left side actuator will have vaccum and the other will not. Then when you press rfw buttton and the light turns off then the right side should have vaccum and the other will not. If you don't have vaccum on right side most likely that is why the light is staying on. then check the hoses and plug if all okay then you might have to change the actuator. hope it helps
Great vid..what wound cause the rfw light to come on each time the car is started? 4wd not engaged and light goes out once the rfw button pressed..thanks.
@@dekbay8930 Was a friends car so im not sure if he finally got it sorted. My guess would be a faulty solenoid valve. putting the shift back into 2wd does not move the lock gear am i correct? only when the rfw is pressed does the vacuum solenoids switch once more into 2wd and the rfw light goes out when the lockgear on front axle slides out of 4wd. question is does the rfw lockring gear move by rfw switch only? also....putting into 4wd from 2wd the solenoid is activated , hence my confusion because no "rfw" switch for 2wd to 4wd. thanks
