Richard Roundtree would knock Samuel Jackson out of the spot. Isaac Hayes was the man! It was on the Enterprise Records label back in 1971. You got that right on the button my brotha, you damn right! MGM pictures was better than Warner Bros Pictures, can you dig it
I Agree with you this could have been iconic and bolster the film. I would release these unheard tracks on cd make your own money on your record label as well as any other isaac hayes tracks to hear otherwise we wont hear for years to come.

The 1971 Shaft soundtrack is the best of all time. It set the bar for movie music. This new soundtrack is total garbage. The music producers are doing a disservice to Issac Hayes musical legacy.
