I actually learnt this at a very young age. It's like if the numbers are factor of each other then the biggest no. would be the LCM. But if there are two co primes then you simply just have to multiply them.

Hello sir, in case there is no number which cannot divide the largest number, why should we multiply it by 2 only??? Why not 3 and 4???

Because you need to try to find the smallest number (LCM) that divide the others number too....... but uf you multiply before ×3 you could find NOT the smallest of LCM, but 1 of the common multiply!! Therefore you need to start to do before ×2, then 3×, then 4, then 5× etcétera....... Ok?
