I've been playing mono Shurima for a straight week, and it has a similar idea to this. I do think Renekton is worth keeping in since he's such a solid unit, impressive removal bait, and an alternative win condition IF you ever manage to level him up (free AOE every turn is nasty! Nobody knows his ability activates on block!)

In fact I literally can't think why they even bothered apart from to cater to people that like to waste time losing games with bad ideas that have literally no strengths. Sadly. Damn runeterra is in a crap spot. I genuinely feel bad for content creators in this slop.

I'm still consdering putting renekton or not into this deck because although it weakens the ability for golden ambassador to draw Azir, I feel that the buffed Renekton from ambassador is just a great 4 drop creature. If he evolves great, if he does not its still a decent midrange creature demanding removal. However, probably gonna be playing both lists and figure it out which I prefer more
I think the deck plays completely different with Renekton. It's a viable alternative but not really comparable to an advanced based version. Renekton still needs to somehow get lvl 2 to be able to make him level 3 at all

Remember your deck TF with fizz and steal deck ? yeah. i use it to do some rank match. i met this deck. lol i wait till they restore sundisk. i steal their ascended's call. Shurima works well for me although i use all 3 ascended for a wide range of values. However faster agro decks are mainly the meta but if ur good enough play what you want and is fun for you
We as community have just survived the vanila version so almost everything in the past expasions seems dull but fundamental and the future seems unfathomable
I did run into aggro a lot and got wins, part of it was they didn't draw crazy .. but the clutch card that was really important is that i always mulliganned for the 1 drop to level azir fast along with the card that heals champions and nexus 2 every round ... it worked well for me But yeah it's not top tier against aggrp like vlad braum scar
I’m very torn on Zil On one hand he is a very solid blocker and adds much needed Aoe removal to deal with agro/things like fizz. And if he manages to levels up he can mega turbo the disk via echoed countdown cards and close the game with echoed emperor cards. On the other he somewhat slows the lv condition of Azir due to landmarks eating mana and makes ambassador less consistent
to be honest i would more considere a 1 of renekton or/and nasus, because when you restore the sundisc you draw one of each and both are crazy strong, but maybe just a 1of renekton, you don't lose too much consistency with the ambassador and if you draw it early he's playable, if you got it from the ambassador, he could actually be the one to level up, but most of time you hope to draw it from the sun disc so you play him directly in his final form for 4 mana...

Drawing there base version just clutters your hand upon restoring the sun disk. Better to level them with ascendeds call in an advance based version of the deck like the one in this video. You can build around nasus and renekton instead but then it becomes more of there deck and azir isn't really necessary. Both renekton and nasus kinda end the game once they hit level 3. Including more than 1 ascended really isn't necessary which is a shame since they should work together as that's the point of an ascended deck which is running ascendeds lol

You said when you shuffle Azir in the deck it shuffles also the deck. That is wrong. A counter example in shuffling a yeti with trapper or tall tales, then playing a champ spell. You still draw the yeti. Conclusion, only predict shuffles the deck.
It doesn't shuffle the deck per se but there's a chance that the champ gets shuffled into the bottom of the deck. Unlikely and it probably won't save you from a nab deck but the chance is still there.

If they play landmark removal make sure you have either rite of negation to counter it or play soothsayer to protect the sun disc. It's extremely unlikely your opponent will have multiple landmark removals in hand
Tried this in normal, 0/7. Tried it in an AI. Passed all the way to get Ascended's Call and see level 3 Renek and Nasus. My hand was full and it got obliterated. Yep, I'm an idiot

I hope that sand soldier decks are still strong after irelia azir nerfs. Blade dance is the problem with that list imo.

I'm going to stick to my Azir/Nasus/Renekton deck. Yes, it's slow and it's stupid, it's not the best, but it's fun when you get your win condition.
My favorite part? Somehow leveling all three of them to level 3 at once and forcing my opponent to sit through a small movie montage. XD
