I literally loved the silent deck construction. Watching you build and then trying to follow what your thought process is a good exercise and it’s interesting to see what I would’ve done differently
I was your first round opponent. It was pretty shocking for me to see in your vid that I missed 3 damage by not attacking with my Synthesizer (I think my brain missed the part where he gets his fourth Counter via Proliferate). Very kind of you to return the favor by missing 1 damage with your Raptor ETB (-: My Deck was even way worse than yours I guess. Opened 3 Lands as Rares, had basically 0 Interaction and all the playables in UB (not the colors I wanted to play tbh XD). Still some interesting games. Thanks for all the content and for keeping your calm and positivity - your a great rolemodel for me in that regard (-:
In you 2nd to last attack did you consider giving the 4/4 lifeline or were you set on trading the skitterfang w/deathtouch? I thought that was an interesting decision, one I would have done differently and looks like I would have been wrong for doing so. Just curious on your thought process on that play.
@@beastly_dakota yeah, that was a thing I considered for quite some time. As far as i remember, I was a bit afraid that Nummy might have some random proliferate spell to keep a counter on the Archfiend. And if i attack with the 4/4 lifelink, he can just chumpblock and keeps an additional Creature on the battlefield (the Glider which is quite a threat since I was corrupted already). Also, with both those lines I'm dead to removal, so I just took the one that leaves him with fewer creatures... For me, Game2 was prolly the most interesting one. I had the Sylex in my Opening hand and had to choose if i wanted to play it on T2 and maybe tick it up to 2 to get rid of the Hive and some random 2-Drops that might come out of him. Or if I try to race, with the lifeloss from the Hove helping me in doing so, and occasionally crack it to get rid of some mites. In retrospect, I think the "racing"line I took was correct, but I shouldve cracked it for 3 mites when he attacked and got me corrupted instead of being greedy and waiting for one more mite...
What a weak pool, no removal, no bombs. You did an amazing job constructing that deck, you used so long studying the combinations and deck possibilities. Always learning watching you.
I mean archfiend of the dross is pretty good bomb in black white. I'm shocked he didnt just right away accept the black white deck with skrells hive and archfiend tbh
then again nummy is better than me. So maybe I'm overvaluing archfiend, but it just seems like such a nonsense card if u can get any dmg in before u drop it. It will then end game in 3 turns if not answered and block the first turn just fine. Also 2 dmg for every dead creature isnt bad text at all. I have never lost to oil counters dropping out before i finish or its removed.
At 2:41:00 you said you were short 1 dmg for lethal, but couldn't you attack with everything? They had 3 blockers vs 4 attackers. 9 dmg in the air + 1 random dmg from one of your creature = gg
Really good attempt. I think the quiet deck building is actually really good for people looking to improve. Watch and take notes to see what justifies being in a deck when you're in a rough spot.
In before the “UA-cam from 2005” comments by the people that didn’t read Kenji’s post from earlier. I know it’ll be awesome content from our favorite Nummy, as always. 👍🏻
I’ve noticed that kenji’s deckbuilder shows a lot more cards than I see on my pc. Is this a display resolution thing? I couldn’t seem to find anything in the client settings.
OP kept full control the entire time and burned through 12 minutes of clock after the warning. Watch how the timer continues to count down on Kenji's turn if OP has priority. You get a time limit in best of three and OP spent roughly 20 more minutes of clock. OP could have just turned off full control at some point when they didn't have real interaction. They lost minutes of time when they were tapped out or had no plays. It's not worth losing a match to bluff having something.
I really hate that they have the fuse running the same way as always in bo3 high stakes matches like this qualifier weekend. When you have individual timers, I feel like you should just be able to think for 5 minutes straight if you really have to. Not sure if you would have noticed that you left yourself dead with that attack in the last match if you didn't have to make the decision that fast, but had something similar happen to me in one of my games this weekend.
I feel that if you were going to think for 5 minutes straight in competitive in person play, you would have a judge called on your for slow play. But you also don't have individual timers in over the table play.
If it makes you feel better, you wouldn't have won that third game. They were at 7, so with an additional damage would have been at 6. Then if they gave lifelink instead of deathtouch and you switched your blocks, they would not have lost two from their creature dying. The only way is if they still gave deathtouch for some reason.
Geesh, no oil, no toxic, no equipments, no artifact payoffs ... seems like it's gonna end up as 'just' a pile of 'the best cards' ... i'dda gone with W/G/b-splash, interested where you will end up
Missed lethal at ua-cam.com/video/L_e9SeehNVk/v-deo.html by casting Flensing Raptor for 3 extra fly damage. Love the content btw, you're so good at making the best of your sealed pools, learning a lot! :)
Haven't watched any matches yet but just wanted to say so sad to see injector not get any play from Numot. It is almost always an MVP card in an infect deck. Giving creatures without toxic the pumps from having toxic is clutch, but even more to make a 2/2 toxic 1 a 2/4 toxic 2 wrecks opponents' blocking decisions early game. Give it a shot my man! But Numot is still the man! No doubt there. EDIT: Only had time to watch 2 matches so far but the injector would have been infinitely better than the flesh cutter in every game so far.
The lack of commentary in deck construction is in fact commentary on the importance of deck construction

Cool story bro

It is mysterious, his thoughts are impregnable!
The thinking back and investigating own mistakes openly really makes this show.

You were not kidding. 360 pixels of awesomeness baby!
its cool to see a pro at work when just stuck with mid cards.
at 27:00 wondering how can you leave archfiend in the pool :O with 5 fixing, even if vorracs are sub par at that
That one opponent who held full control against your full control... I had to switch to 1.5 times speed to keep my sanity watching that match.
At 2:41:00 you said you were short 1 dmg for lethal, but couldn't you attack with everything? They had 3 blockers vs 4 attackers. 9 dmg in the air + 1 random dmg from one of your creature = gg
Question: was there a reason Root was better than Prism in the initial list despite Prism's trigger for the Justicars?
Really good attempt. I think the quiet deck building is actually really good for people looking to improve. Watch and take notes to see what justifies being in a deck when you're in a rough spot.
Watched it on stream, was insane wich games you won where I thought it was for sure over.
And he did it all in one take ladies and gentleman (I get fatigued after my 5th round in a row, this is impressive)

@Jan Huppertz Its in the community tab on youtube. He posted a message on there about 40 minuted ago.

What does "don't punt" mean in this context? I'm lost in translation
I’ve noticed that kenji’s deckbuilder shows a lot more cards than I see on my pc. Is this a display resolution thing? I couldn’t seem to find anything in the client settings.
There is a Zoom Out button on the top right of the screen.
Why don't you use in-game overlays so you can keep track of what's in your deck at all times...? Just asking, not being critical.
ok so what happend with that one guy who timed out??? can someone care to explane how that happend?

Man, why do you hardly ignore a black flyer 0/0 with counters for 4 mana? Did it hearts you?
Props for trying I couldn't handle the stress lol
oh noes 360p noooooo
You can tell how much thinking was going on.
Could you maybe make a separate video, where you explain your thought process while deck building?
mmmm since when day 2 its also sealed? i thoght day 2 was draft
Good discipline, I don’t think the mistakes cost any games.

11:12 🤣
Why did R2 opponent forfeit?
his timer hit 0
^This.^ Bo3 has a time limit in games.
For Ria Ivor, if you target an opponent's creature with the ability does it sort of pacify their creature?
It's better to have the gems worth more day 1, on day 2 its all about making it in and you've already won a ton from day 1.
Wahh why is it silent? Where is the commentary?!
people dont watch pron for the dialogue lol
It's a qualifier event so he's being serious about it. Less talking, more thinking
more thinking didn't seem to pay off much lolol
I was refering about around 11 minute on the video. Hehe. Nice video i love it btw
11:12 i guess that flew over everybody’s head
Wow, why isn't he saying anything. Where's the commentary?
;)
3 hours🤩
Solid gameplay with a deck that was quite mediocre. Enjoyed the content though and I hope your next attempt fairs better. Thanks.
I miss watching live streams
Three hours and one minute?
The thrun + white suns is just no fun.
BW was looking stronger than GW from the beginning imo
