    Another St Johns Wort harvester suggested leaving the flowers on a tray for an hour or so. All her beetles just leave and she can get on with her process. Thank you for this!

      @@skimusic3773 excellent tip! Kind of the same as I do with flowers like chamomile where you get a lot of little bugs...they usually crawl out of the flowers after they are sitting for a bit. Sadly these beetles killed most of my St. John's Wort patch though so I'll have to get out amd forage some wild plants this year!

      @@savoryandsage It likes disturbed earth, and apparently my garden is very disturbed. I have some large stands in the wildest corners, so I really needed this video. Thanks again - U.P. Michigan here so we "rhyme" as far as land and weather.. Subscribed.

    They aren’t Japanese beetles, they are jewel beetles, Agrilus hyperici, the St. John's wort root borer

      @@globaltsarina thanks so much for the info! I guess this explains why my St. John's Wort plants didn't come back this year...well I have one tiny one and that's it
