    I LIKE THE STEP BY STEP VISUAL ANIMATION!
    I FIRST LEARNED ABOUT SOLAR FROM WATCHING ENPHASE’S ANIMATED VIDEOS, YET MY DESIRE IS FOR A SOL-ARK 15k. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EDUCATING ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE OF YOUR AWESOME PRODUCT & HOW EASY IT CAN BE TO INSTALL IT!

    I have one of these in an off grid situation. So far so good!! Using the smart load to dump extra solar to dhw when availablr

    • @mylesoffgrid
      @mylesoffgrid 2 роки тому +1

      My request for this unit though is to make the smart load able to be used off SOLAR only. Right now it is limited to using 5% minimum of battery, but i don't like the battery percentage mode, so i use voltage mode. And this is only able to use minimum 0.5 V of battery power. I would like it to use solar only and kick off when there is not enough solar coming in. that is my only "complaint"

    I can't wait to get two of these in the Garage! How would you install them in Parallel and do the loads need to be balanced?

    • @Sol-Ark
      @Sol-Ark  2 роки тому +3

      Hi there,
      We are planning on releasing a similar video on Paralleling 15Ks soon, be on the look out for that! As for the balancing of loads, all load outputs for a parallel 15K installation must be combined. If you have any other questions, reach out to our tech support team here: www.sol-ark.com/contact-us/

      @@Sol-Ark great! I will be on the lookout for it. I have 320amp service and have two 200amp panels. One panel for the house and one for the garage. I'll be putting 16kw of solar on the garage which faves South. Then in the future I will add east/west solar to the house. Very interested to see how two 15k's can help me stay off grid but still pass through to battery backup

      @@DetachedGarage We bought 2 12k systems with the same plan they are terrible systems, with cheap gotchas. We wish we bought anything other than Solark. The power goes off every night at midnight on the dot because of low battery. even though we have a 20K array with full sun and its grid tied allowing battery charging from grid, gen or PV. The system does everything it can to drain the battery by midnight. you cant even force it to charge back up from the grid.

    Do you have a trade in option for current owners of 12k systems to upgrade to 15k units?

      Hi there,
      While we do not have a program for upgrading your inverter from one hardware to another, you may contact our engineering support team to see if you would qualify for a system upgrade: www.sol-ark.com/contact-us/

    Can a 15k be added to a system with 2 12k running in parallel already? I'll want to expand my system eventually.

      Hello,
      Unfortunately, you cannot install a 15K in parallel with 12Ks due to hardware differences, however, there may be a workaround depending on your application. I recommend contacting our solar engineers here for help with your question: www.sol-ark.com/contact-us/

      @@Sol-Ark thank you for the reply, another 12k and two more arrays would work as well, but if there was a way to make it work with a 15k and three more arrays on it that would even better.
      I'll definitely get hold of tech support to figure out a way to do it when I get closer to that point. So far after cutting the 2.5acre south lawn area the system is surviving winter nicely with the sun at 7 degrees altitude, 5 degrees on the solstice. 19.8 kw worth of panels, 2-12k units.

    Where do you put the ct clamp for the main panel wires?
    What does the code requires you to do so it's correct when you get the wires out to the sol-ark?

      Can be in a variety of locations, but often at the main panel around the feeders.

    At 3:50 where is the power coming from to the Grid Port?

    • @Sol-Ark
      @Sol-Ark  Рік тому

      Hi Tommy, the power into the Grid Port is coming from the grid (Can be a generator, just let the system know through "Gen connect to Grid Input"). You should ensure that the grid arrives at a disconnect before the 15K Grid Port.

      Hi Maverick,
      We hope to be able to upload a live demonstration of a full installation whenever we can! As soon as an opportunity presents itself we will provide that, a lot of our viewers have been wanting that type of content.
      In the meantime, I highly recommend checking out @Engineer775 on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/users/engineer775
      His channel has a lot of hands on content perfect for seeing our product in the real world, hope that helps.

    Is this hybrid inverter capable of selling stored power (batteries) back to the grid? I have a few cases I'd like to attempt - NOTE: Commentors should not reply "this is not cost effective..." etc, that is not the point of the question, the question is about the device's suitability for purpose!!
    1) Intentional small-scale island, multiple sites on a property with buildings that require power and have space for solar - but I'd like to interconenct them (without a utility-scale grid). In this case, there is an option to generate solar from three locations with different solar access (late-morning, mid-day, early evening), and sharing "between sites" would be the optimal solution.
    2) One location where there is limited power need, and limited maximum capacity to sell back the the grid all at once, but there is space for enough storage to capture the day's excess solar generation and then sell back to the grid overnight (think base-load).
    I understand that will add to the complexity of the total system engineering - and that there would be no "grid" as it were to reference for power. Is there a software mode or special software possible to override the anti-islanding feature for "sell back" in these unique cases?

    • @Sol-Ark
      @Sol-Ark  Рік тому

      The controller included with each inverter can schedule grid selling, grid charging, and generator controls at various battery states of charge, battery vs. load solar charging priority, and kW demand management, at various times of day and seasons. You can interconnect multiple sites and form various micro-grids. With the appropriate design, no external software is necessary.

    • @Real_Tim_S
      @Real_Tim_S Рік тому

      @@Sol-Ark Thanks for the reply, I have two follow-up questions:
      1) This isn't answered directly, but it's implied, so to be direct: can that scheduled sellback to the grid occur when the only power available is batteries? I'm envisioning the unit servicing the loacal load demand, but making anything extra (generation storage) at any time available to micro-grid demand.
      2) Is the control and managment software available for off-line use? I note that all manuals and reviews indicate internet connection as a requirement and some form of account creating on a web-service. Is complete real-time control and monitoring possible from an isolated network?
