To think, this was originally a funk tune by Bernard Purdy called *"Funky Donkey,"* where the horns riff was lifted. But when Roland Alphonso and the Soul Vendors touched this for Coxsone Dodd's Studio One, they laid down one of the fiercest riddims in Jamaican music history. A staple in many sound clashes, you draw this in a dance, worries.
Good

*Rest In Power,* Jah Buzz.
This is one of the longest rethym in the reggae musical arenas, there is about 50 pieces of this songs.
Since reading Marlon James's 'A Brief History of Seven Killings' (excellent writer but a bl00dy grim read), I now understand what all those "peace in the Rema man corner" tunes were referring to, like the Tappa's 'Peace in the Arena' here.
I thought they were just non-specific calls for the badmen to stop the violence, but now I get it- there was an actual, proper peace treaty (albeit brief) between the Buckie Marshall PNP and Claudie Massop JLP gangs, I think around 1978, partially brokered by Marley himself, who was friends with both men.
What a pity it didn't last :-(
Still, you can see why the singers and players were celebrating at the time.
Plus, it's a wicked riddim as well.

Where did you got those last two jackies ? Divine
The next to last Jackie was a custom mix I did using one version he did for Bunny Lee in the right channel, and another version in the left channel. The last track sounds like a Jamaican Recordings version (where Bunny gave some ametuer his tapes to re-dub the tracks using modern digital effects.)
