Kinda sad how Luxor has de-themed over the years. It was really something to see back when it was in full bloom. Unfortunately, I think your room experience is pretty typical of what several resorts comp players these days. We've had similar experiences with room maintenance and cleanliness issues at multiple places up and down the strip; some were pretty high end places too. The maintenance issues are one thing but to not clean a room well is just bad stewardship IMHO. Anyway, great review; I enjoyed your thorough breakdown of the property. Zk
Yep - Especially at a lower-end property, scuffs, dents, dings, etc. are expected. Sweeping the floor is a minimum expectation that every resort should nail. Appreciate the note!
Just stayed here in October. The tram never seems to stop at Luxor or maybe it was user error on our part but regardless once we figured out the walkway , it seemed faster just to walk through excalubur take a left I think after the escalator and walk to NYNY. I always seem to have issues with cleanliness. I always bring a bunch of clorox wipes and do a deep cleaning of any hotel room I stay at. I am pretty passive and don't like to complain to staff and would rather just do it myself. Anyway we stayed at the tower rooms which seemed to be a little nicer even though there was some hair by the shower and behind the toilet even though the rest of the room was clean including the bed being spotless. Anyway thanks for the review.
A friend of mine stayed in the tower a few weeks back and said it was pretty decent! I need to give it a shot. There's two trams - Tram 1 stops at all 3 resorts (but only in the northbound direction I believe), while Tram 2 only stops at MB and Excal, skipping Luxor completely. It's honestly pretty confusing to navigate, lol. The walkway is a better option if you don't have mobility issues for sure.
@@hurleyintl84 Okay thank you, when we did it though it seemed do to the opposite. we got on the tram at Excalibur and it went pass the Luxor right to Mandalay bay and we were confused and just got off at Mandalay Bay.
I was just here in November, be we had a tower room and the whole room was in excellent shape. Nothing fancy but a comfortable room and great price. The Blue Man show was well worth the price of admission.
I once had them comp me the entire 28th Floor (8 rooms) in the Pyramid. Back in my highrolling days. Was also a place that made GREAT alcoholic milkshakes!
Thanks for the review! I've booked a room there for my annual March Madness trip, never stayed there before. Just curious...did you complain about the lack of cleanliness? Wondering what their response would be in case I have a similar issue in March.
I didn't, no. I'm sure they would've sent someone up to address the issue or move my room if I did. I just don't have time to deal with any of that, but I'm sure they'd take care of it. As a fellow March Madness in Vegas aficionado, have fun! It'd be tough not to, even if you have a dud of a room.
I've never stayed in the pyramid rooms, but the tower rooms are the better choice. I'm no high roller, but it's really not difficult with a players card to get comped rooms at luxor. I routinely book 4 night comped stays in the pyramid and ask at checking for a upgrade to a tower room. I've never been told no.
Yikes for the hairs lol. I stayed there over 10 yrs ago and while I do love to visit because I love the themed part, I wouldn't stay there again. It's just too dark for me, I prefer bigger windows and lots of light. The egyptian theme rocks, I wish the newer hotels didn't all look so bland. Vegas should be over the top :)
@@StalkingTheStrip I don't really have one, I stayed at the Flamingo a few times (love the location and big windows) but this last trip with hot water problems, yikes. I loved the Mirage..Think I'll try Planet Hollywood next time..
PH is a nice place! My vegas progression the last few years went from flamingo to Horseshoe to PH, but then switched to Mgm properties when they started comping my room. Luxor is home base now, but as my comps increase will switch to MB or NYNY
I'm old enough to have ridden the interior water flume ride. The room hygiene was completely unacceptable, lower tier property or not. Though your room was comped due to tracked play, which I appreciate you being upfront about, perhaps mentioning the rack rate may be helpful to those of us who don't play much, or at all. As always...
I never rode the ride :( By rack rate, do you mean the standard pricing? If so, I think I covered it at about 0:30 - Let me know if you were looking for something else though! As always, thanks for watching and for the note!

Really appreciate it! Thanks for taking time to watch!
Congrats on 2k subscribers! You deserve 200k!
Thanks! At our current pace, we should hit it by around 2032, lol.

I agree. The themed hotels added such a fun element that i wish modern hotels still kept

The tram does a weird move where it passes by Luxor then goes to Excalibur then doubles back to Luxor. Just gotta stay on it longer. Next time

I just came across your channel, watched two hotel/resort reviews. Good work. I subscribed.🤗
Good to have you! Appreciate the kind words!
Thank you for the video! Inquiring minds want to know so I did some checking on the pill that you found and it is just a generic pain reliever.

Yea, I need to get into the tower next go-round. Thanks for watching Heintz!
the room furniture came courtesy of the Bellagio room renovations !

I don't even know if I have enough friends to fill 8 rooms - Sounds like a pretty fun experience!

Great hotel i stayed there 10 years already
The price is certainly right! Love the resort myself. I could see it being a solid home base.
I had a comped room in the same category earlier this year, and it was in much better condition. And much cleaner. Luck of the draw I suppose.
Nice! Good to know I may be the exception vs the rule.

Great value in that buffet, too!
I shuddered when I saw those hairs in the bathroom - I don't even like finding my OWN hair laying around the house! That was gross!
No joke - I was pretty amazed at how obvious it all was, and that it was all missed.
