I would only do it if the receiver had made it all the way in to the kitchen line. Then lob to the backhand side. All in all I don’t think at the end of the day it’s a good shot to attempt. I feel like lobs from the kitchen line (offensive lobs) are the lobs of choice.
Soon it will be "third shoot drop...what is that?" Most recreational players who played tennis and they did not have enough skill to do the drop shoot started to play pickleball and are expected to play that difficult shoot. I know players that are 20% in making third shoot drop and are still thinking that is the right thing to do...and their drives are 90%...I think some will have more success lobbing when drive is not a good option.
Best video that I’ve seen on when to drive or drop. Thank you!
Simone great job illustrating the right way and the wrong way. Great visual to aid in the learning process. Awesome
Glad to see more new training from you! Very informative.
Thank you! I needed this. Still new…and I assumed I needed to be doing 3rd shot drops almost all the time. This was so helpful.
Excellent tip. Keep them coming.
I love your teaching. Just found your site. You explain clearly and get right to the point!
This was great!!! Thanks
Good explanation with the demonstration!
Thank you. I’m starting to understand:)
Wonderful teacher
Good stuff!
Great video
Excellent video. I will definitely re-watch and study. I am just now kind of figuring out when to drive and when to drop, but it isn't a reflex yet.
Tennis really is a game for the lifetime, thank you so much to help me improve my tennis.
How can you think so fast and make the right decision?
When opponent is centered on the kitchen line, why not drive the line?
Should I drop or should I drive now?
If I drop there will be trouble. 🎾
And if I drive it will be double. 🚗
wonderfull Simone...very clear video. this will help me a lot.
Oh brother
Would you ever do a third shot lob? 🤷🏼♀️
Takes practice, but I think it's a good choice.

Clear concise instructions in under 7 minutes. Jordan Briones would have made this a 32 minute video. 😏
Oh, smack! I still like his stuff though.
Low ball drop, high ball drive except……… short low drive, short high bill drive.
