DISCLAIMER: At 13 minutes, I made a mistake...I wrote .06 instead of .065 when converting the tax rate to a decimal (I wasn't paying attention lol), however when I calculated the tax on the calculator I multiplied 44.93 x .065 which is how I got $2.92. I know many of you following along may multiply .06 x 44.93 = $2.69 due to my error...my apologies, I hope this clarifies 🥰

Today I told my partner that as I am studying for the TEAS exam, I am finding it hard to study math because everyone is going SOOO in depth with their explanations and most are explaining it only how THEY understand it. From what I know the content isn’t expected to change too much, but more so how the questions are distributed based on the topics. Of course we won’t know for sure until the test is actually released this summer 😊
In the third question, I multiple the total by 0.06 and got a completely different number, you have to multiply the total by 0.065.

On the tax , tip, discount. Why didn't you add the 5, in .06 from 65% when you converted it? So is it $2.92 or $2.69?

Hi Jakara. im reading my ATI teas book and the formula for percent change is
(New-Origin)/Origin X 100
my question to you use does it matter which way we subtract wether its (origin-New) or (New-Origin)... im worried cause most time when we are subtracting a smaller number from a larger we get negatives which can change our answer.

baby cakes Hi there, im taking it on August 28th. But just got her book yesterday and trying to study as much as possible? Is her technique helpful for the test? Im not a math person at all and havent learnt math for over 10 yrs 😣, but her book helps me a lot so far and hopefully i can apply it on the exam.
@@Zarylia5813 Sorry for the late response. Yes her book is helpful for the test, I scored 84.4% on the math section. The TEAS test is multiple choice with a built in calculator you can always access. Whatever you're having trouble in Flag the question and go back to it so you won't waste time trying to figure out one question. Good Luck
