Your reaction made me so happy, because not everyone understood the controlled and spooky mess Sunmi intend to portray in this concept. This is like that by design, and I think you're the only ones to enjoy this chaos and value the artistry. Well, I'm not surprised because you're always very insightful with art within the realms of Kpop. Also, I think the song tries to put the listener in the place of the confusion across knowing someone that's a stranger and you just wanna know them (even there's the chorus where the adlibs focus on the phrase "Stranger Danger"). Cheers, besties!
Storytelling Queen has returned and delivered again. It's gotten pretty crazy that Sunmi has been able to tell so many different tales (and tails) while keeping her energy in all of it. I'm sure it'll be a bit before we see her back again but each time, I know it's going to be worth it.
Sunmi delivers unique every time. Such iconic concepts and sounds and styles. And always willing to be personal and introspective with her work , being serious and humorous at the same time. And how to look younger with every comeback - stunningly beautiful with those last 2 shots!!
Honestly she reminds me of Lady Gaga in the sense that she ain’t afraid to go there. I’ve loved Gaga since I was little. Like I grew up on her. You know that moment when you’ve discovered THE artist. Not just another person you really like or listen to but THE artist that resonates with you and makes you cry or tear up from the joy or beauty of it all. That was Gaga for me and basically always was up through high school. I had that same moment listening to Sunmi. But what I noticed is she wasn’t a conventional k-pop artist. I notice kpop can be very “safe” sometimes. Which I understand but it makes it go a little bit less further than I think it can. But Sunmi seemed to never let that bother her. One of my faves was Noir where she, ummm finger guns herself for views. But there was splatter and then wine on the floor. That was a Gaga stunt if I ever saw one. Like Sunmi always reinvents herself while still keeping herself intact and giving her unique energy just in different forms. One thing I have always loved is how open she is with her borderline personality disorder. She even showcased it in Borderline. And I think it even wove itself into this song a little. It’s exactly how a lot of people put it. It sounds like two different songs. They’re right it does. But I think it’s a nice little touch considering her disorder. Like if you really think about it the song flows wonderfully. Despite it feeling like it may be all over the place it just works. There’s a hidden beauty in all the supposed chaos and randomness. And it’s like she wears it proud and she normalizes it through her music. I don’t say all this to compare them as some people think but rather to show why I really resonate with both artists. Sorry for the really long comment haha just wanted to give a cent or two on one of my favorite artists. Sunmi will forever be a slay a queen and an icon. She is THE moment and I wish the world for her.❤️❤️❤️
I’m dead!! I was just watching Blizzcon stream and they had a clip of you reacting to a music video collab with Suga! I was like no way, those are my reactors!!😂😂
@@DifferentlyAlike okay sick! I’ll try to go back on the Overwatch World Cup stream and find the time stamp of when they had your reaction vid playing on the big screen lol there were so many people in person lol and like hundreds of thousands watching online
I like Lana Del Ray too but she is a bit melancholic. They are quite different in what they sing about but some of Sunmi's songs may appeal to LDR fans like Calm Myself, Childhood and 1/6
The first time I heard the song without the video I was like nah. Now seeing the video I think Sunmi is the only person that could get away with this and I actually like it a lot. The screw loose just kills me.
Hey, I recently wached a performance and I had goosebumbs through the whole thing. I beg you to watch it. It's called "Legends never die Cover" from Kim Yeji. Its worth a watch😄
I had my mouth open wide opened when I first listened to this. No one is on her level seriously, she owns her concept so well

It’s not just a song it’s a whole masterpiece

SHIT…. Sunmi is just astounding…. I always look forward to this woman’s comebacks because she is just on a whole nother level.
I love this MV! Besides this MV was filmed in my country, in Poland 🥰
Sunmi! My favourite soloist! ♥
Love that you loved this concept & release by the Queen Sunmi. You should listen to the album. It’s sooo so good.
AAAAND she composed, wrote and arranged it!

Stranger for Sunmi visually is like Bad Romance for Gaga hope this makes sense for others too XD
YES !!!
Thanks for the reaction! Can You react to Something-Girls Day (dance versión) pls?
I understood the concept and her intentions behind this song, I still can't enjoy it as a song, but I do respect her for making that move.
I agree that Sunmi somewhat reminds me of Lana Del Rey. Like they are both so conceptual and you can feel their artistry in their work
First☝❤
The song was Tail that you are looking for.

And sorry if there are any mistakes. English is not my first language. 😅
태민, guilty도 댄스 엄청나던데... 선미, 와우~ 여태까지 본 k-pop mv 중 가장 오랫 동안 기억에 남을 듯...ㅎㅎ
Not a fan of all the changing tempos out of nowhere - like I don’t hear any transitions.
