RIP to all 11 victims and also to Romanian Jewish professor and Holocaust survivor Liviu Librescu (1925-2007) for trying to barricade his classroom door shut in the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre. All but one of his 23 students were able to make it out the windows, Librescu and his one student were both gunned down. So in recognition of his brave efforts that same year, the Romanian parliament had awarded Librescu, albeit posthumously, the Order of the Star of Romania, that country's highest civilian honor. (Look it up on Wikipedia and see it for yourself, it IS there.)

My mom used to work right across from this synagogue. I would look at the designs on the building because I thought they looked pretty. My mom's work would always have stuff for Hanukkah, menorahs, chocolate coins, and dreidles. Since I'm not Jewish I would walk over to that stuff and look at it because I'd only heard of it.
I was in my school 30 minutes outside of pittsburgh when we heard the news. We were getting ready for our marching band championships. I didn't fully know how close this was to me until I got home and was able to look at my phone. I still can't believe this could've happened in my city.

Directed energy weapons are real and advanced.
