As a spaniard, I really love how intricate the interior layout of some of those pubs can be. Sometimes you have like two or three cozy rooms with their own style. Its really amazing. I believe thats something very difficult (if not impossible) to find inside spanish pubs/bars. I absolutely enjoy your videos showing us your amazing british pub culture!
Alot of them have a home room feel, where you could be in someone's living room. But in Spain you have great outside area's with sun which we don't have 🤣😭

Fly tipping, graffiti, litter, asbo chavs, homeless people shitting on the street. Same sort of issues as any decent sized town in the UK, sadly. The Edgy Arms might be one of the roughest pubs I've been in tbh 😂. Some 'characters' in there in the evening. Looks better in the day than the night though!

I lived in Stockport for 20yrs. I actually really enjoyed my time there because of the interesting characters and crazy nightlife. Sometimes it could get quite dangerous during the nights though. Saw quite a few brutal street fights.
Just missed the three best pubs in Stocky - the Petersgate Tap, the Magnet, and Ye Olde Vic. The Armoury is the best Robinson's pub in town, in my opinion. Heaton Hops is the best location for beer in the area.
Magnet really is one of the best. The staff are great, the seating's nice, the music is never over-the-top and then there's popping out back to the decking for a freshly baked pizza.

There's also a mural of the Pulsar radio wave image used on Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures album, which has been adapted to make the radio waves into a guitar. Joy Division recorded at Strawberry Studios in Stockport. Recently, a mural of Sarah Harding was unveiled. Sarah was a member of Girl's Aloud who died, aged 39 of breast cancer. She lived in Stockport from the age of 14.
Stockport is getting better all the time. Plenty of building works going on but I don't know how Merseyway will ever look good unless they put a full new facia on absolutely everything. I like the way this guy uses 'decent' or 'half decent' to describe everything. 😂

Hello just found your channel and it's bringing back memories for me. My Dad grew up in stockport and my grandparents lived there pretty well all there lives as well. I remember walking around those streets back in the day and nice to see things are getting better. I live in Canada now but it's nice to see updated videos of the place. Thanks again great work.

Went into a pub called the Pineapple on a little high street near edgeley park. Supposedly one of the roughest clubs but beer was cheap and locals were friendly

Egerton Arms is probably the cr@ppest pub in the centre, always kicking off. Robinsons beer is pretty expensive for what it is but there are many decent boozers in stockport for sure!
Probly used to be ok pubs not anymore hardly no shops where i live is a disgrace no local shops only petrol station cant even get fresh milk in it im just getting at this point to hate place no local shop no local supermarket plenty waste council ground to build on what usless area

Well it looks better than some of the other places you've visited. There are people in the centre, the shops are not shuttered and its looks pretty clean. Also, I personally really like Wetherspoons - a great choice of craft beers at great prices. Interested to know who runs the council and how the town is getting investment, because it looks like it is doing something right...
much rather be in stockport than somewhere like Huddersfield it's impressive how much money is being poured into stockports new apartments, leisure and retail spaces but the influx of new people is going to put huge pressure on hospitals, schools, doctors etc.
Swan with Two Necks - twinned with a fantastic pub of the same name in Bristol......Roasty Spuds on a Sunday Lunchtime and great beer. Quite frankly, use it or bloody lose it.......
I'm local and yeah nights out are good, saw a fella outside the Egerton Arms with a machete once though... Next time you're down you should try Baker's Vault (at the start of the vid on the right you can see the outdoor seating).
Hi mate! Just discovered your channel today, awesome! I'm from Stockport and used to go in lots of boozers around the town, some of which are no longer there sadly. Congratulations on finding the Swan with Two necks! That is probably one of the only pubs that has been left in it's original state in the middle of the main shopping streets. It's always been a great meeting point when my step dad or boyfriend was able to enjoy a nice pint or two whilst us girlies did some retail. Two other places you missed was the Robinsons 'Bakers Vaults' on the corner of the market place opposite the indoor Victorian market, which used to be awesome back in the day with a chilled out jazz night on a Wednesday. The for a really dingy pub there is the Nelson Tavern, opposite the college, but probably rough as f*ck these days no doubt! Loving your channel, have you done Northampton yet? We have load of quality boozers round where I live now in New Mills, Whaley Bridge, Buxworth, Capel-en-le-Frith and Whitehough if your into real ales.

The “two necks” thing, should be Two Nicks - a sign the swan was owned by non royalty. As with this one, one in Leeds changed to necks. I assume they all have, though two necks sounds juat as wierd. .

You need to visit your overseas territories mate. Canary Islands are full of British style pubs, and bars.

@@honestplaces ahah you lived in Glossop 😂 I'm 22 and Hurracaines has been gone for years so never experienced it but know of it. It's reopened into a club called "the cave" or "cavern" now. It isn't great. Last orders (The brook tavern) is still just as much as a shithole though
