Well people care so much about Cats that there is now an unbalance in the ecosystem where some species of Birds are now in danger because of them if you think consciously about it rather than based on pure subjectivity. They prey on them instinctively which is normal in nature but they leave the corpse uneaten because they aren't starving and loose little by little the habits of hunting for feeding themselves since they are used to be fed by Humans. Cute doesn't mean not harmful unfortunately.

Mother cat will overcome her stress more easily, and keep feeding her kittens. Being put in a big new place with many strange cats is very stressful for the poor mother.
