【作品解説】
この曲は「Short!!」というテーマからインスピレーションを得て作曲した。
「short」は時間的、空間的に「短い」「小さい」と訳される。しかし、この言葉は一言で明確に定義することが難しい。辞書で調べてみても判然たる説明はなく、「長い」「大きい」といった比較対象があって初めて「short」の意味を説明することができる。
そこで今回、テーマである「Short!!」を表現するために、長さの比較対象として曲、楽器、この2つの要素に着目した。
曲の長さの違いがわかりやすいように、この作品は6曲の小品から構成されている。この6曲の小品の演奏順は決められておらず、演奏者が自由に決定できる。今回の演奏では、5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 6という順番で演奏された。
また、楽器の長さの差が視覚的にわかりやすいように、使用楽器にはトロンボーンを採用した。
どのように「Short!!」が表現されるかに時間的、視覚的に注目して聴いて頂きたい。
【About the piece】
This piece was inspired by the theme "Short!".
The word "short" can be translated as "short" or "small" in terms of time and space. However, this word is difficult to define in one word. Even if you look it up in a dictionary, there is no clear explanation, and the meaning of "short" can only be explained with comparative objects such as "long" or "large.
Therefore, in order to express our theme, "Short! I focused on two elements, the song and the instrument, as objects of comparison for length.
To make it easier to understand the difference in length, this piece is composed of six pieces. The order in which these six pieces are performed is not set, and can be decided freely by the performer. In this performance, they were played in the order 5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 6.
In addition, a trombone was used as the instrument used so that the differences in instrument lengths could be easily recognized visually.
The time and the order in which the "Short! is expressed both visually and temporally.
