I'm currently printing the sabre 2. It's an awesome looking plane. I'm planning on mounting the camera on top of the fuselage with a gimble and use a head tracker on my dji air unit.
Very nice wing design. I like the shape of the wing: larger root chord and smaller wing tips. Less drag at the tips. Clean frontal area and very efficient at high speeds. Hands off in manual mode, INAV 6 is an amazing step forward, I noticed myself! Landing speed was around 50 kmh-ish. Maybe a little CG tuning? How does it fly upside down, close to neutral? And how are stall characteristics? Spiral of death or just nose dropping, backwards V-shaped wings can be tricky? Now I have to choose which plane to print.... 😅 👍 Additionally: prop is rotating in free/clean air = silent = nice for a wing!
What size of nozzle did you use to print this? I run with a 0.6mm nozzle always. I find using the PLA-LW i need to have 1 wall, but print it at 0.8mm (which is easy with a 0.6mm nozzle). Using a 0.4 nozzle printing 0.4 wall width, they are just so weak...
Yes Im' using a standard 0.4mm nozzle, makes the walls thin and weak for sure, but that's the only way to have something light enough. Unless using a bigger nozzle and a light plastic like PLA-LW
Amazing model! super modular, the way models should be designed! so good! the only reason i am reprinting is because i forgot i was inverted and pulled on the wrong way hahah :D
I have some OSD that shows me about the same informations in the goggles, but what see in the video is post-processed, overlayed using a software called Dashware, it uses the blackbox and telemetry files to add the values over the HD footage.
hi olivier , ım currently building the model airplane called scimitar ,but I noticed that the fusulage 3 and 4 files are different from those in the video.Have the files been updated , and if so, where can ı find them?
Everything is there on the first page : www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?4223695-Rifter-Sabre-Scimitar-mini-sized-FPV-cruisersIF it's not too late, print the Scimitar v2 !
Hi, I have a question, my friend, he is the beginner, and he wants to start with building your airplane, and than fly it as his first aircraft. Would you recommend doing that, or disapprove? Because I think that. he should choose different aircraft for starting. What do you think about it?
hi, if he never pilot a fixed wing, I don't think that's best to start with a 3D printed plane, these are more fragile than foam planes. Instead I would recommend a twin tractor like the AtomRC Penguin, it's an excellent plane for beginners, and then once he's trained enough, he can print a Scimitar ! :)
@@Olivier-C dang I'm about to print a 800g-1kg plane. and it still looks small. I'm thinking of scaling it 200%. could you recommend a motor specs for 1kg plane and 2kg plane respectively?
I have a Creality Ender 3 Neo V2 and it printed the wing very nicely, I had to change the flow to 60% for the whole wing as otherwise there wasn't good adhesion. Nice and strong with the infill.
The log file is made by INAV, recorded on the SD card, on this plane the flight controller is a classic F405 . I have a video to explain how it's overlayed, will release soon
I finished printing mine and am installing electronics! Going to fly soon!
nice, about how much did all the components cost you? I'm contemplating printing out his rifter 3
Looks rad! remarkable landing for a wing with just 1 control surface working!👏
I always keep about 20 Gemfan flash 6042 in stock. Some of the best props for wings
under 50 mah/km is insanely good to me, great job!
this is my first time seeing rc wing fpv flying so smooth like this 👍👍👍
Another awesome plane from Olivier. Thanks. 👏
another great plane ! i just have finished printing the sabre 2 hope it will fly well :D this will be my first INAV plane !

This year, I'm going to try all of your designs! Finally the winter is ending!
Great idea with the screws! Individual part replacement is important.

Already printing it in LW PLA...first part looks gorgious! :D
Seems to fly great! Merci beaucoup Olivier!

Did you manage to break all the parts ?! O.o
Beautiful. Magnifique!
Minmatar! Your line of planes are named after Minmatar ships from EVE. I really want to have a Sabre!
Wow, relatively silent, very fast and efficient 👍Great design! What is the stall speed?
Excellent. Et qu'est-ce qu'il va vite 😮
@Olivier FPV can you give a link to the servo linkage you used?
Wow I need to get my printer up and running again 🎉
Is the data in the video part of the goggle view? The altitude, speed etc. and the GPS track view or is that post processing in the stored video only?
I have some OSD that shows me about the same informations in the goggles, but what see in the video is post-processed, overlayed using a software called Dashware, it uses the blackbox and telemetry files to add the values over the HD footage.

Very nice model. Fast and beautiful. how big a battery can you put on it?
Nice. I have printed all but fuselage 1. Do you have the fuselage 1 file with the cam cutout? The one in parts folder is solid.
In the folder /extras there's the SCM nose and the adapters !
Hello Oliver. Thanks for the model! Can you help me to find the correct CG.
Hi! Theres 2 small triangles on the sides on the part fuselage 2
@@Olivier-C thanks lot
how heavy is it just the 3d printed parts alone?
About 370 grams, there's all specs here : www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?4223695-Rifter-Sabre-Scimitar-mini-sized-FPV-cruisers

Olivier what temperature are you using for the LW-PLA and is it using the profiles you published?Any changes to flow etc?
I added my setting for PLA-LW in this post : www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=49958197&postcount=5

I'm downloading the Rifter model design, but it doesn't open. Do I need to install a program?
The .3mf files need to be opened with a slicer program of your choice. The CAD files are all Fusion360 if I remember correctly.
Great stuff! Well balanced! Lightweight PLA? And was that a real bumblebee? Lol
Awesome!
Wow, what's your launch throttle and idle throttle set at?
Im not using INAV auto-launch if that's what you're asking, I'm throwing in angle mode, with about 70-80% throttle maybe
Hey what a nice plane. I have print it. Can you make a video how you find the cg point on the wing?
Theres 2 triangles printed on the side of the fuselage
looking good, no problem with the black LW PLA in the sun? (sagging?)
no PLA-LW on this prototype, it's all PLA+ !
Fantastic
What board is used to get telemetry data? Thanks

under the wings there's 2 little triangles, on the fuselage sides
can it printed using vase/spiral mode?
Should work yes
7:26 the up deflection seems high
Flight controller i allways i need ?
Et la vérification pré-vol ! J'entends encore mon instructeur 😅
Plenty of wing sweep, very good...A common design flaw from China....🤔😳😳🇬🇧
lol, you flew wing with only one servo....
