LIV OMG - what an incredible video! Freaking love all the science you got going on in there! And also, while fear foods are no longer something I struggle with, this is definitely something that could've helped me when I was - as I'm sure it's incredibly helpful to many people currently struggling!

I have a question: where do I find motivation to challenge feat foods?? I eat the same thing for breakfast every morning because it’s safe and I like the taste, so my ed sees no need to even try anything else

if you look at the word motivation, the definition is: a reason or reasons for behaving in a particular way. thus, in order to find motivation to challenge fear foods, you must first find a REASON for doing so. what is your goal behind challenging the fear foods? what do you want to achieve? only then will you find the motivation!

It's strange that I have fear around foods I've eaten hundreds of times, even within the past few months. Rationally I know the food won't harm me, and rationally I know even if I did have a panic attack that I'd survive. I guess I'm just afraid of the uncertainty of my own ability to handle panic every time. What if it became a super massive panic attack like the few really bad ones I've had in the past? How would I deal with it then? But... I think those don't happen anymore considering I know how to handle fear now. Sit, observe it, accept it, and let it run its course freely without trying to resist it. Almost welcoming it. Way easier said than done, of course. And yet, I'm still afraid to eat and it's killing me. 🥲 Thank you for making this video. It was so relatable, especially the "I'll face it tomorrow" part. Ain't that about the truth. I'll try visualization.
*Edit* sorry I didn't mean to trauma dump, it's just such a complex thing, fear and eating disorders in general (ARFID in my case.)
