I feel like from all the romance anime from that era, kimi ni todoke is one of the best in therms of the depiction of a healthy relationship. it's so well written and feels very real

It had a sequel manga that came out a couple years ago.
*Kimi Ni Todoke* was the show that not only got me into Shoujo anime but also turned me into a huge Slice of Life & Romance junkie in general no matter what Demographic, It's slow pacing was perfect for me & the cast became so special as well 😭
Specially since I was still in school when i watched it & these characters became a huge part of my life to the point where it was like am feeling every single moment like am present with them in their story (something only the characters from shows like Monogatari, Oregairu & Horimiya had made me feel like ever since) & cuz of all that, *Kimi Ni Todoke* has a special place in my heart & am really really happy that we're getting a Season 3 ✨
did you watch wallflower/ perfect girl evolution/yamato nadeshiko shichi henge? Sunako Nakahara is a lovely girl also
It would be interesting to see Luke react to a whole season of slice of life anime. Something like Non Non Biyori or Yuru Camp.

For me, this is the best shoujo romance anime out there. And after a decade, S3 will finally premiere this August on Netflix. Here's my personal favorites per demographic:
Shounen: The Dangers in My Heart (This one swept the charts last season in a most unprecedented way, even beating powerhouse like Solo Leveling)
Josei: Wotakoi (Office romance between two weebs)
Seinen: Kaguya-sama: Love is War (I think you've already seen this)
Oh man are you for real, you are watching Kimi ni Todoke
This was for a long time the single best romance Anime
I would say that Horimiya has taken its crown (mostly because it's more realistic as to how teenagers are and what they do) but man this series is so great
FYI: This anime is currently incomplete (it doesn't cover the entire manga series), but there is talk about it getting a new season (season 3) soon!
HOWEVER, Netflix has released a live-action version of Kimi ni Kodoke that covers the entire manga series and I highly recommend watching that!

I've watched this series when I was in middle school, it was already fully released at the time. As an introvert, her characteristics were so relatable there were times it made me weep. It's been over a decade now and I still love it to this day!!!

Oww so happy for this reaction! Kimi ni todoke is my favorite romance anime so far! I watched it when I was 15 years old and just loved it. Then I read manga and now with 28 years old I was literally screaming with the 3rd season announcement. I'm so fucking grateful with this new generation of anime watchers has given the credits this story deserves. It's thanks to them that we can say that maybe we'll have Kimi Ni Todoke as a whole animated!

I hope to see more reactions of Kimi Ni Todoke. It's veeeery slow and frustrating sometimes, but Kazahaya and Sawako are everything, the cutest and healthiest pair out there. You will love them more and more.
This show is like crack. You'll never get enough. It will piss you off, make you cry, and make you scream with joy, and I'm a 50 year old man lol. This show is so relatable because everyone's felt left out or ostracized at some point in their life, even if only in your own head.
i really love it when animes does these animation techniques, having different styles for each situation, like one for normal, one for goofy moments and one for serious moments

One of my favorites, it is one of several that I watch and reread the manga again and again.
Kind of sad this didn't even make it into the Sunday genre tournament since romance won. Hopefully you get to watch this at some point in the future, especially since it is getting a 3rd season soon and you seemed to really like this one.

The bravery competition in Japanese is "Kimodameshi" (Test of Courage) where kids go somewhere scary usually during the summer. It's an event that gets used in lots of anime particularly anime centered around school, romance, and slice of life (it's perfect for getting couples closer in romance series!). Just wanna mention this cause you might come across this in other anime, too.

She gets to know the Sohma family, who turn out to have a curse. So Tohru's goal becomes to trying to break the curse. It's a fantastic story!

Season 1 didn't grab me instantly & I thought it's just a Good Supernatural Romance at best but boy I was proved wrong as I continued watching & now Its one of My Most Favourite Anime Shows of all time 🛐

Sawako VA is Mamiko Noto(Elsa from RE; Zero). Yor va is Sayori Hayami. At first I also thought it was Sayori Hayami's voice.
As for the Anime, the first season is really good. The second season is still good, but at the same time the pace is slower. The good news is that the third season is coming out after about twelve years.

Sweetness and Lightning: a recently widowed father learns how to cook so that his daughter doesn't have to live off of convenience store food.
Somali and the Forest Spirit: a young human girl is abandoned in a forest protected by a golem. he decides to leave his forest to find humans for her to live with, but during their search they grow to love each other as father and daughter.
Flying Witch: more general family than father/child specifically, a teenage witch moves to the country to live with her cousins while practicing her magic and introduces them to the magical world she's lived in her whole life. kinda like kiki's delivery service if she was in high school when she left home.

I don't even like this genre and this is one of my favorites. Also, just learned in the comments there's a new season this fall after more than a decade.
