- Sidekicks pilot, part 5.
Upon his death, Sabasan chooses Sgt. Jake Rizzo to be the caretaker of his grandson Ernie, who is the last of the electric knights, a clan specially trained in the martial arts.
WOW I have not seen this since it aired in 1986 and I still remember the part about the little boy not crying and Buck Rogers - I mean Rizzo (lol) talking about his concern over it. I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan but I always remembered this show fondly, probably saw most, maybe even all of the episodes. I still like the opening theme, I think it holds up well after all these years. Thanks for posting.
Totally I want to see grown up Ernie and his family adopt another kid or have a foster home teach them all martial arts. A true martial arts epic where the real battle is " I against I". Instead of constant conflict with others in unrealistic ways. The fighting is done with the punching bag. Dun Dun Dun I guess I gotta go talk to Ernie Sr. Because this show sounds amazing and Disney plus needs me to write it. I saw this show as a 4 year old kid told my mom I wanted to be that kid. So we look in the yellow pages for local Karate schools walked into the closet one and there is Ernie Reyes Sr and Jr. It was a truly epic beginning to my Mixed Martial Arts journey. A great school by the way( I had to mention it).
I am so glad that I am not the only person who misses this movie!!!!
Dying and still managed to light all those candles. Awesome dude
thanks for putting this on youtube. i thought i would never see this show again.
I am enjoying the Sidekicks series very much and continue to do so.
I remember seeing this back in the 80s. I wish the full series came on DVD, since it was a great show from a great time, and imo nothing on TV today is nearly as good as what we had back then. Also, anyone else here had the HUGE C-Band sat dish? We did, and I miss it. Even if i had it, i've heard they no longer function since they changed the signals. Thanks for posting these, and please post more IF possible
I like how at the end he finds peace from the grief about his grandfather dying and all.
I miss this show😭😭
this show is awesome... no shows like this anymore ... i tried to tell my little cousins but now they see!!!!!
How does this show differ from the shows of today? What makes this show special?

Great writing. Also an absolute lack of nihilism, sadism, narcissism, sôdômy, Leftist propaganda, SJW sermons.
Detective Sergeant Jake Rizzo even wins against that Leftist (Fascist) child services hag.
You won't see strong moral families led by manly white men, or even manly fight scenes, on telly today, either.
Thank you, Herrulek77, this a beautiful memory, the 80's was a good decade, in the shadow of nuclear war, some very good things found their way out, in despite of this... Well done... Oh yes, I'm a 77er too :-)
"I am not your son... I am Pontar Ohm... Electric Knight... There is no need for Sorrow"
Until it's Echo finally reached him...
Wish I could watch this in the highest quality. Disney should sell it on DVD or something.
6:44 Ernie finds peace.

“Where is Mr. Rizzo? Where is he” Well, that siren may be a clue
