This is why nobody will remember Bouchard and everybody will remember Sharapova.... Class, talent, beauty, but most of all a fighter, an icon.... you are missed Maria...
Not true. We all remember Bouchard, for all the wrong reasons. Like she won a GRAND TOTAL of 1 WTA title in her miserable career (slightly better than Kournikova), and mysteriously hurt her head at the US Open locker room and got compensated for it.
@@robertdrass9504Plus, people only liked the girl for her looks. Meanwhile, Sharapova won 5 Grand Slams, and made her success. I wonder if she’s still under contract with Nike? Especially since Nike and Babolat dropped Bouchard.

That is the most emotional I have ever seen her after a match and that includes winning Grand Slam title. Great match with both players playing well and giving their all. So after 19 months of not playing a Grand Slam match and only 11 matches the whole year, she beats the #2 player in the world. The drug she took to supposedly help her endurance was banned and she still played a fantastic 2 hr 40 minute match which proved she did not need it as a performance enhancer. She played pretty well that first year back, too bad the shoulder injuries just never went away and basically finished her career.

Sharapova, what a way to get back into the game. You just came to show us what you're made of. Now without the drug that almost "ends your career". It was your moment, here came the tennis champion again and to stay with the top and making it clear to everyone with this amazing game, but they continued to kill her the same way for a mistake she had already paid for. As you are going to miss her, tennis would not be the same without her, it marked an important part in the history of tennis with its wonderful game and style, a great one.
We’ll definitely miss her on court. - Forever Fan. I don't know about the mechanics or what have you but to me, she has the most beautiful, graceful serve of all. It's dreamy. I love how she keps an eye on her opponent even after she's thrown the ball in the air. Focus.
Sharapova was under an unbelievable amount of pressure in this match. The doping ban cast a shadow on practically all her Grand Slam titles, so she must have felt like she had to prove it had never been any chemical substance that made her a champion. Anyone else might have buckled under such pressure, especially with the injuries holding her back. She didn't - despite all the double faults and unforced errors, she went for the low percentage shots, played her usual aggresive style and beat the world No.2 at the time. Now that's the mindset and grit of a champion.
The cultural genocide posing as a doping ban. This game will take a very long time to recover from a bunch of real cheaters backed by the ITF officials for business and "values" reasons. Personally, I hated Sharapova for executing her strokes so unprofessionally despite their move to America. All the sacrifices of her family had been done almost for nothing considering her real talent of smart play and creativity, almost equalling Henin's. Yet, Henin has been sick from birth (missing one muscle in her leg, causing her to suffer). Invalid for professional tennis, basically. Still winning more slams than Maria because of her talent. But Maria's book is full of fun...
I read about it. The dress was made as a collaboration between Nike and Riccardo Tisci. Adorned with Swarovski crystals, the dress cost $500 USD, along with a crystal-adorned bomber jacket costing $700 USD.

What a tremendous battle. No doubt one of those classics worth revisiting many times. It's so vital to have untiring retrievers in the game like Halep, with her beautifully sculpted legs of Olympic racer. Watching her in slow motion rushing to the net or sprinting for dear life from corner to corner is one of those great moments of women's tennis. Halep, with her immense level of energy, sprints after extreme side balls that most players would just let go. She keeps the quality of the game at the highest level of intensity. Halep forces her star opponent to produce her best. And Sharapova, rising to the challenge, delivered. We'll never know another player of such beauty, elegance, and superior talent in a long, long time. Seeing Maria emerge at 17 with her antelope legs and girlish smile withstanding the firing power of battleship Serena Williams was one of those miracles. The Ancient Greeks would have turned her into one of their goddesses. Sharapova was a blessing to the women's tennis world that we will not see duplicated in our lifetimes. Losing her is an absolute tragedy for the WTA circuit. So immensely sad. Our only consolation is to get the videos of as many of her great games as possible. No highlights, only the full games to deploy the wide scope of her unforgettable grace and artistry.
