Great show chaps. Jose on fire😂 Regarding the question of the White Album being sealed or the Pink Floyd. UK records were never sealed back then. Cheers Nige
Another fun one man… it would be interesting to see the large group pick some of there favorite albums based off of some of the same criteria to show like you and Chris have been doing on the Monday show.
Great idea! You got my wheels turning now… 🤔
Jason what’s up with that wall of Brazilian flex?! Are you highlighting your collection or are these new pickups?
Jason’s modest mouse story is an example of my main motto when it comes to the competitiveness of record collectors on a sale day, “I’d rather get less of the records I wanted and make a friend than get all the records I want and make an enemy.” Because people matter most, none of this would matter if it weren’t for each other and the people who made it all.
Well said, my friend! I think most of the fun in life is creating situations that move others, or influence them in positive ways. Scoring a desirable record is great. Putting a smile on someone else’s face is priceless. 😊👍
@@spinzvinyl exactly. I’ll always remember the day I learned that getting someone else a rare record they’ve always wanted felt as good or better than when I get the rare records I’ve always wanted. I was sitting there looking at a 200$ record that I knew a long time friend wanted forever and I wanted it so bad and I was like damnit I don’t want to lose this and then finally said screw it I’m getting it for the friend, and instantly a blast of awesomeness flooded me with exactly like when I win something in auction or when I’m the first one in line to grab something before it’s sold out, all of those great feelings were there yet the album was for someone else!!!
@@arzabael I love that! Your story is a great reminder to me to stay selfless. 🤜🤛
@@spinzvinyl thanks g
Show B-Hole, do it for The Waxed!!!!
Shouldn't kids just be left alone and not peer pressured into buying classic rock reissues, and just embrace the music of their generation? Why is it important to give them that opportunity? If they really want it, they'll know, and they'll aim at an original, and cherish it.
Absolutely not, Stunty! It was good enough for us, it’s good enough for them! No better way to toughen these kids up than with a little Doors box set!!! 😉
Seriously though, is this peer pressure? That seems a little strong to me. Jose said he was into this stuff at 13. If my dad hadn’t turned me on to the Doors as a young person I would have really missed out on some great music.
I think it’s good to know where today’s influences come from. I don’t think reissuing a record is peer pressuring anyone. We all make our own choices.
Just my take.
Thanks for watching, my friend! Let me know when you want to make another appearance!
@@spinzvinyl Sure, I should be more time compatible in the next few weeks. But I stand on my point. It's not the label reissuing where the responsability incombs, but on us, VC, who keep rehashing the same old stuff. The kids will be totally fine and even better if they find their own path, their own stuff. Look at how damaged and broken José is! Discovering all that old stuff is fine if it's your own path, and not a ciultural reflex coming from this sort of peer pressuring I witness on a daily basis on the VC. It's basically a load of old farts desperate to stay relevant, but as they don't know how, htey try to make younger generations embrace their own stuff. Every year there is tons of great new and novel music, every single year, if you just take the time and have the curiosity. SOmeone pretending Nick Cave's last LP is amongst the best stuff this year is simply completely clueless or full of shit. It's not bad, but it's comfort food, not even worth mentioning in any serious musical disussion. And don't even get me started on the new Cure LP, hahaha. I'll talk to you this week so we can prepare something, if you still want after that ^^
