- The case Springfield v. Humans Against the Consumption of Animals (HACA) was argued on November 16, 2009, at the Ames Moot Court Competition. The presiding judges were Hon. Richard A. Posner '62, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Seventh Circuit; Hon. Diane P. Wood, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Seventh Circuit; Hon. Barrington D. Parker, U.S. Court of Appeals for The Second Circuit.
The Ames Competition, held in the historic Ames Courtroom of Harvard Law School, is one of the most prestigious competitions for appellate brief writing and advocacy in the country. The students participating in the Final Round started the competition in fall of their 2L year. Two teams progressed to the Final Round through their strong research abilities and excellent written and oral advocacy.

The judges spoke more than the oralists.
The best-oralist award should have gone for one of the Judges. They hardly let the lawyers speak :V.
Omg the judges !!!! it seems like they don’t try to understand and ask questions just to ask
The real question is how did these videos show up on my feed when I can barely comprehend what the heck they are talking about.
Maybe next time we’ll get to actually hear the students speak. What a terrible panel of judges.
They took this one to heart 🤣💪🏻
Oh it is in NM NV 2013 on
Report came in late
🤮 judges were on their high horse in this one
worst judges ever
Those Judges are no different than Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Samuel Alito who constantly interrupt lawyers, solicitor generals from speaking without interruption. Judge Diane Wood here was interviewed by President Obama for the Supreme Court but ultimately picked Judge Sonia Sotomayor in 2009.
