Personally in my DSM, ducting between the FMIC and radiator was the answer to keep coolant temps down. If you want to REALLY ensure cool temps, build ducting from the radiator to the hood (add a hood vent) so air has to go through the radiator and has negative air pressure drawing it out. Your air temps and coolant will thank you but it’s a PITA
I just saw the miata on Mississippi Ave turning onto 225 a few hours ago, by that broken stoplight. Saw the sticker on the back and looked you up! Glad i found the channel. I was actually on my way to look at a car that I just bought as a project. I look forward to following the build!!

I can't remember what the oil in my m90 smelled like, but I know that in my vortec superchargers the gear oil smells just horrendous. Also I would make a heat shield between the blower and the headers. When I made my own bracket to mount a vortec V3 to my mustang, mine ended up mounting the supercharger pretty close to the driver side exhaust Bank over the headers and I just made a little aluminum heat shield and use two of the exhaust header bolts to mount it and it helped out a lot with heat heating up. The supercharger and the intake
I should have said it better cuz you did have the stock heat shield on there but and I had one on mine too but I felt like it was so close to the headers that it just didn't do much. When I added the aluminum plate it had like a 2-in gap and I felt like that did a lot more
I don't think you'll need too big of a hole to the intercooler but the thing is you need a shroud going around it and the radiator so the air is forced to flow through it and then also the radiator fans will help by sucking air through it forcing air to go through it as well when the fans are on. Also couldnt you have just used bolts to mount the intercooler and drill a hole in the radiator support. Also with your coolant temp issues, I had the same problem with my vortec intercooler but it was only at low speeds once I got going more than like 20 mph didn't matter so you might look at when you're getting the hot temps. Is it all the time or just it like low speeds? Because if it's just at low speeds, you might be able to fix it with more powerful fans. Or you might have to slightly relocate the intercooler so it's not blocking the radiators much. And so that the air that's passing through the intercooler which is going to get heated from cooling a supercharger air isn't going to heat The radiator as much. I know you're super limited on space or I would almost try to put the intercooler at a lower spot or a different spot than the radiator so they're not using the same air. Also, the shroud might help with that because the air might just be bypassing the radiator without the shroud.
Fun fact it actually cooled better with the skid plate on for all of those reasons. It basically keeps the air from going under the radiator and forces it through. We tested it again today with the skid plate and things were cool as a cucumber
@@The.Rad.Factory the part number is belt size and rib amount. Just give them the part number. If you know the rib amount and the length you can give them the part number for any belt. It's very simple just look it and it's like a cheat code to getting belts.

so I just ki da found this whole stream of FAFO and I am hooked. For this specific offroad miata I'd say you need a lot more final drive gear for that motor with those tires, everything would be exponentially better despite the lack of top end speed which you could fix with a ranger type overdrive
Pumped you found us! Our final drive is 5.38:1 up from the stock 4.1. Anything above 65 on the highway is terrifying 😂 and if we ever make it to Baja we’ll be more limited by our suspension for speed. Surprisingly that 117hp is plenty to break the tires loose in the dirt which is what matters 🤘🏽
😂 hopefully we can continue to fine tune this set up and get a bit more that way. Based on what we researched we should be able to find a few more pounds of boost!

@@RadFactoryGav excellent. It’s going to drive so much better. I have seen so many people recently playing with blowers trying to to make a blow thru throttle body and it never ends well.
