OK, awesome! thank you and I really love what you do. I never understood why fishermen ignored crawdads for the most part, it is like having a bounty of fresh seafood basically for free. I will join the Facebook and send you an email about some stuff we have going on.
Dang boys both were looking great. Really close one for sure. But I'm gonna go with Jerry also the way he plated the dish made it look like a Dungeness crab.
I gotta vote for Mike here because I’m sorry but you can’t mess with such a delicious piece of meat like filet mignon like that! If it was not stuffed with the crawfish I would have to go with Jerry but because it is, I gotta go with Mike on this one. Both look awesome though! Please keep making more content and keep the vids coming guys! Been a subscriber now for a while and always stay up to date
Nothing like private raised beef. Mike your custom burgers sound awesome. Minus the cheese. Creating of Custom cuisine is also " Liveable Art" "All these guys volunteered ", Lol. Let me guess they raised their claws and said... Were you an Army Recruiter Gerry? Garlic Mint sounds good on Asparagus. You guys use way too much cheese! You should do the Challange at your annual cookout and let participants to vote with their palates! When we get together I will prepare some of my "Non Cheese" dishes. Such as my,spiced - herb chuck steak, aqua food, salads, potato, rice and pasta dishes that will give you guys a run for the crawfish!
Both looked good but I couldn't eat either lol (no beef/alpha-gal) But from what I can remember I liked steak better than burger so I guess my vote goes to Jerry lol
This was a difficult decision to make since I love both Burgers and Steak. The way I made my decision was. I asked myself, self if you had each in front of you right now, what would you pick? The answer is Sorry Mike, but I will always take the Filet over chopped steak every time. I am voting for Jerry and the Stuffed Filet Mignon
Aweee man they both looked soooo goood! But I'm voting mike! He made me wanna go out and make that burger for myself. My mouth was watering. And I freakin love steak.
Info here: for something totally different... we do crayfish totally different in Green Bay. Many years ago our local taverns sold these like popcorn, something always in a bowl on the bar. First, iced in a cooler they will stay alive until tomorrow, but leave the lid just cracked. stacked in layers, ice then crayfish, then ice, then crayfish etc. once very cold and dormant they are easier to clean. Second, we clean our crayfish (called crabs locally). hold the crab in your dominant hand like a hot dog, grasp the pincer arms at the shoulder joint if that makes sense with your thumb and index finger pinching them together so you don't get pinched. Now hold the tail down with your pinky finger, stick your thumb nail under the head shell where it meets the tail and pull the head off. Most of the intestines will come off with the head but a quick swipe of your finger in a bucket of water cleans any remaining. Next, the tail has five fins, grab the middle one give it 1/4 twist and pull... the poop line comes right out. (this only works on uncooked crabs). Note; the rib meat stays on the crab so you can eat that as well without sucking the guts out as some folks do elsewhere in the country. Third, Cooking, at least twice as much boiling water as crabs by volume. Now add salt until it tastes good to you, then add "Old Bay" seasoning until it tastes good to you (remember how much of each) then add that much salt?seasoning again. Essentially making a double strength brine. Now add a few large heads of fresh dill, must be fresh... slice up a lemon or two and your ready to cook. Fourth, we store the crabs in gallon glass jars filled with the brine to cover and the dill weed in the fridge. The old Timers say in this salty brine their good for a month, Mine never last more than a weeks or so... The longer they soak in brine the better they get. We love them hot right when you make them, but there's nothing better than a bowl of ice cold crabs on a hot summer day. We freeze them in the brine as well, but i rarely have any that make it to the freezer... Crabbing is a lost art here in Wisconsin now, the DNR laws changed due to invasive Rusty Crayfish. No one can possess a live invasive, no one can possess any crayfish or parts there of and fishing equipment at the same time, trap entrance can be no larger than 2 1/2 inches and if there's trout its down to 1 1/2 inches. So basically you have to clean the crabs in the boat so they are dead, and you cant catch the big ones anyway because the holes are too small. Anyway I've yet to find a anyone anywhere else that does it the way we do, thought I'd pass it along. Great tip on the non predatory baits by the way. Due to CWD in our Whitetails it's recommended we don"t eat organs, so i save my deer livers and that seems to work great. Also if you ever get a batch of tiny crabs, consider donating them to a local zoo, they would flip to get fresh live crabs for their otters, raccoons, mink and the like...
I have been thinking about my vote... and I realized that Mike won the lunch competition and Jerry won the dinner competition. My only question now is who will win the breakfast competition? LOL You guys are still making me hungry.
@@ianmorcott3113 Mike will win that for sure. If you watched watched all of our videos you will rememcer crawfish pancakes for breakfast with hollandaise sauce. That was at the end of "Testing the Boil Trap" episode. Best crawfish breakfast ever!
