I'm trying to decide what kind of weapons the bicycle troops near the head of the parade have slung across their shoulders. The weapons don't look like Enfield rifles.
Respect from Scotland. My grandfather fought alongside the 36th Ulster Division in those blood soaked trenches of the somme. He was a runner in the Royal Signals, got wounded by flying shrapnel in his leg n walked with a bad limp for the rest of his life. That said, he was one of the lucky ones n lived a long happy life till his sad death in 1981 n like us all he had a heavy heart when we think about all those brave loyal men who died on those bloody flanders fields. Keep that flag flying high boys we will never forget the sacrifice you made.God bless the hero's of the 36th from a proud Scotsman I salute you all. Scotland won't let you down.

Mauser rifles, like the original UVF were armed with
Given UK strict gun laws they weren't actually rifles. Just mockups and pretty poor ones at that.
