- In todays video I’m going to be deleting some chrome off on my 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee!! There is still some chrome left on the Jeep so once I figure out what to do with the rest of it I’ll post the 2nd and final part!!

I wrapped the window trim. The side moldings and the hatch trim. I just plasti dipped. Looks great. Last about 5 yrs. The beauty of the plasti dip is....when it becomes warn looking 5 to 6 yrs. You can just spray a fresh couple of coats on top. I also used the glossifier. Both times.

You did a great job with that wrap, i love a nice "murdered out" Jeep! Lonestar Hawaiian shows how to Blackout the emblems to perfection with Plastidip, super easy, no emblem removal required. Video title is "Total BLACKOUT on the 2020 SILVERADO TRAIL BOSS - "MIDNIGHT EDITION" $5 MOD!"............... now murder that Jeep, lol.......
It looks GREAT, I have always wanted to see what the blacked out chrome looks like and I’m not disappointed 👍👍😊. I have been considering doing the same thing to my 2011 Grand Cherokee for these past couple of years.
However, I think that I will pay the extra $$ and have the chrome painted instead as my budget will allow me to do so.
I’m concerned that trim tape may not hold up very well in subsequent years.
I don’t blame you one bit! I wanted to get the trim professionally painted or swap it out with factory black trim but it’s not really in the budget at the moment lol.

Chrome looks good but I got a 20 grand Cherokee limited with the 20’s I’m gonna black out all the chrome and powder coat the rims. I’ve had 3 dodge Ram 1500’s night editions, I just love the blacked out badges. White with black is beautiful but this black on black looks amazing bro. How long you think it lasts? Is it something that needs to be done every few years?
I would say it would need to be redone every few years just like any other wrap but with how easy and cheap it is it’s worth it if you like the blacked out look!

Hey I’m thinking of getting this car, but is there a way you can put the car in first gear and shift, or is it only park, drive, reverse, neutral.
Mines a 2012 and when you put it in drive there’s a “ slapstick manual” option so in drive you push the sick over to the passenger side to shift up and then push it to the driver side to shift down
How is the mirror and door handles holding up? Have they faded or changed from when you first put them on?
It was still holding up good when I sold it!

I never ended up getting rid of it before I sold the Jeep…
Nice, the door trim is stuck on with 2 sided tape. My 2 cents, saw more of your backside then what you were doing.

Spray the rims and other chrome in plastic dop
I just did hyper-dip on mine and it was great.

The window trim is vinyl wrap. And the door handles are held on by 3m tape.
in case u didnt know that engine ticking is ur rocker arm & it was covered by warranty on my 2015 used , just a tip ! but thanks for posting links im going to get black window trim now ! 😁
I’ve looked at it. I’m almost positive it’s my exhaust manifolds. I’ve got broken bolts on both sides. Gonna fix that and if it’s still ticking I guess I’ll be making a video on digging into the motor lol 😂
@@ZPTVChannel Have the same car, that tick is a bad sign. Mine did the same thing for about 6 months....had to replace the engine. Had a misfire on cylinder 5 code pop up. Roller on the lifter seized and chewed the whole lobe off my cam sending the metal through the engine. Not trying to scare you but should really pay attention to that. Common on these 5.7s in the age range. The car looks awesome BTW! You did a great job and now I want to do mine. Cheers!

@@ZPTVChannel: It’s going to be major surgery to fix that dreaded Pentastar tick.
You’re looking at replacing at minimum the rocker arm bearings and sadly it could get more extensive from there (example: replacing the cam/cams due to worn lobes).
@kennethmelnychuk9737 it’s a 5.7 hemi. I’m going to change all the lifters, camshaft, upgrading the oil pump, and new headers. That should fix my issues but I’ll know more once I break into it!

Definitely coming! Haven’t figured out the direction I want to go with that yet. I’m thinking about just buying oem black wheels or aftermarket and a oem color matched grille but those are pricey! Lol
@@ZPTVChannel: I can relate to your dilemma regarding wheel prices but of course aftermarket wheels are less expensive (unless you can buy a set of black factory wheels from the auto wrecker?).
I purchased a set of black aftermarket wheels (HD brand w/hub covers) for my black 2011 Grand Cherokee and they look AMAZING.
@kennethmelnychuk9737 I think I found a set I might get they’re aftermarket wheels that kind of resemble the srt8 wheels from a charger or challenger!
