And to think Syd Dale was self taught. If there is a better example of genius, I can't think of it. His music makes me happy to be alive and have the ability to appreciate music. If someone asked me to describe his music in one word, it would be "COOL"!
The last time for me was at a department store. A woman approached me and much to my chagrin, asked, "Do you work here?" Life is full of disappointments.
It sounds like showcase music; I feel like displaying a brand-new dishwasher or stereo or that porcelain Dalmatian that used to be offered as a prize on Wheel Of Fortune,
This goes so crazy lol, I've been listening to more Syd Dale but I can't find anything quite like this song. If you see this comment and have suggestions please send them my way!
the girl in the pink suit is edwina carroll famous for the commercial for bmk carpets were she does judo on the unfortunate intruders in her flat looks around 1969 the adverts aired between 1967 to 1971 . being trying to find footage for years
You're speaking about a relative like he's some kind of random stranger...haha Your grandmother's cousin would presumably be some kind of "great-uncle" of sorts to you. Regardless, you should be happy and proud if you've managed to uphold your family's groovy-ness.
Very stylish from a period when London still was stylish. Today it's in the hands of speculators, who erect terrible buildings where once nice ones were standing, or make the town with their "gentrification" so expensive an ordinairy postman or porter has to travel two hours by train to get to his job.
+3enjoy3 if you are replying to me, Maurizio Sabatini, I still haven't been able to find this photo on the net nor who the photographer was, it would be so nice for someone, perhaps us lol, to release a book of these wonderful pictures !! take care
+maurizio sabatini Hi Maurizio, I was replying to you, sorry for not using your name. Philipp has kindly supplied a link but coincidentally I had also found it online too after some research. The image appears to be free of copyright and the photographer is unknown. The photo depicts Carnaby Street, London. The two shops in the background are the fashion shop 'Donis' and a health food shop/restaurant 'Cranks', both now gone. This is looking at the east side of the street at the junction with Marlborough Court and today the buildings remain but Diesel clothing shop occupies the site. It's a fabulous photo and fits the music perfectly :)
Before my time but I grew up listening to a lot of his influences…..I love it. Thank you Syd Dale
Such feel good music and by no means just easy listening. His music has so many layers.
Omg this is the music of my childhood.... my gran and gramp loved Syd Dale....
Bellissima musica di anni passati pieni di bella vita e sensibilità ❤

@mark
great post - the music does, indeed, remind you of the past when people dressed up just to drop off mail at the postal box
missing those times
La canción perfecta para calmarse
This is the very definition of "Light Music" which does not take itself too seriously.
Great sound production ... Great playing .... Great arrangement .... Great everything!
Beautiful as usual Mr Dale. Chefs kiss. 👌
The people London TODAY would give ANYTHING to be back in those happier times. Ask them for yourself.

It sounds like showcase music; I feel like displaying a brand-new dishwasher or stereo or that porcelain Dalmatian that used to be offered as a prize on Wheel Of Fortune,
Great performance. Reminds me of my favorite light-orchestra OK-Dreamband. CD "Clarinet-Dreams" is available for download (iTunes, amazon).
Beautiful funk. I love it.

My music when I win a lot of money driving along the Monaco Coast in my ferrari

Where are those chords from? Oh yeah,-- "green dolphin street". Still its a cool tune.
As smooth as a pair of ermine underpants .

London is unfortunately now a cesspit.
smooth :D
Actually Michael, you're absolutely right, I was getting my Barry Gray themes mixed up, I should have said Captain Scarlet!
“Leading the fight, one man fate has made indestructible.
His name - Captain Scarlet.”
You're welcome! :-)
Belleza y buen gusto hoy escasea ese bien natural del ser humano
In a couple of spots it sounds like a late-60s Barry Gray TV score.
A me ricorda Paolo Conte ua-cam.com/video/EuEfhz0OCwA/v-deo.html
oh yeah swinging times
where are they now
Reminds me of the Joe 90 theme around about 1:15/1:25.
+polmacd I was thinking that or the fast version of Barry Gary's Captain Scarlet theme.
The instrument in the backgrounds is very reminiscent of "Ogdens' nut gone flake"
The wobbly wah-wah pedal?
My music in me Morris marina driving along in Kiddrrminster 👍
I can think of two straight away, Stevie Wonder and Nikola Tesla!
london life if you live on carnaby street - nice bit of lounge.......
Really cool, but somehow I've heard this before. Not sure where.......
Non sò dei 2 chi ha copiato.... ma questa melodia mi ricorda la bellissima canzone del
Maestro...PAOLO CONTE in "MILONGA"
Conte, questa è uscita prima

Somehow the later Syd Dale tracks have a cheap, plasticy sound to them, unlike the late-60s, early-70s ones...
But this is not the case
Easy Sounds yeah this one is from 1975, so...
