I haven't seen snow like that for 60 years, Over here it is Sunner, a time for the Beach m Back-Yard BBQs and Cricket. stay safe and wrm , and keep posting these great videos
This is going to be another enjoyable cab view ride through the beautiful countryside of Sweden with all of the nice snow on the ground it is very beautiful Merry Christmas Everyone thank you. 🎄🚂🚃🚃🇸🇪🎄
What a beautiful winter wonderland! We do not get that hardly anymore. Although for my work (mailman) I'd rather not have snow covered slippery roads :) I noticed that the 3 yellow light level crossing signals are quite close to the level crossing. So in case of a non secured level crossing, indicated by 3 flashing yellow lights, even with emergency brakes it could be difficult to stop the train before the level crossing. I think...
I'll be travelling along this line in the summer, but it is soooo much more beautiful in winter... thanks for the ride! A question. As a railfan in Sweden, is there a way to find out when freight trains will pass? Say, asking station personnel? (I'll have three hours between trains in Åre.)
Hello! Fellow railfan here! Probably not. 1) Almost all train traffic in Sweden is controlled from a few centralised control centers, so in general there are not many (if any) personnel that know about train movements as such. 2) It used to be that Trafikverkets system that has real time data on all train movements was open. There were web-sites and mobile apps that used this to present what you're using about. To my knowledge Trafikverket now has a filter on that data, so the only train movements available for these 3rd party apps/sites are passenger services. If you find a train driver for eg GreenCargo, or a local shunter, that is just slacking 😊 you could take your chances there. Slim chance - they usually won't hang around on platforms in their free time. Also realise that whenever something goes wrong (congestion, breakdowns, temporary speed restrictions, goods not loaded in time etc) the first thing to "give" is freight traffic [1]. A lot of things can go wrong in three hours.. [1] Unless you're in America, where most lines are owned by freight companies, and passenger service companies have the "privilege" of paying to use the lines but usually will have the lower priority. Crazy..
@@davebowman6497 Then I have to count on luck. I can understand that they don't want to make real-time train data publicly available. Last year when photographing trains in Norway, I was confronted by an off-duty policeman who suspected me of being a Russian spy. With the recent wave of sabotage attacks by Russian spies in the EU, I can't even say he was that paranoid.
That track is part of a line running through half of Sweden, from the middle to the far north. Just shy of 1300 kilometers in length. The point in the video is roughly a third of the way from the south end. Details in English Wikipedia article with title "Inland line". And you're correct - it's not electrified, so only diesel units, or steam in case of any museum/heritage/nostalgia train :-)

Soon after your initial start the rail line to the right didnt seem to have an overhead feed? Running diesel-electrics?

Buenas tardes. Primero que todo, el 15 de Diciembre estaré de Cumpleaños.
Är det Inlandsbanan som går på styrbords sida en bit efter Östersund? Är banan ner till Trondheim på norska sidan med el numera?
Ja, Inlandsbanan.
