- In the prior video, "Remote Oil Filter Install, AN Hoses, with Custom CAD Designed Bracket", I installed a Remote Oil Filter with a custom-made bracket I made in CAD. How you say? It was relatively easy, and straightforward, this video shows exactly how I made it, using free scanning software, and FREE Cad software. After the design, I sent it to SendCutSend to have it made to my print!

I just ordered a 3d scanner. Working on a new dash layout. Your video made it just click that I will be able to scan the broken frame of a truck I have and have laser cut and bent patch panels ordered.
I was planning on just having a local shop bend a 90 and make it work, but now ill be able to provide the files for them to do it up right.

@@FastMonty like you said at the beginning of the video, anyone can make it out of sheet metal or even cut up and bend some existing brackets. However when you take advantage of the technology available, the outcome is much more pleasing. On top of that only the best for our Pontiacs right?
Only the best is right... Now that I know this method works, the possibilities are endless. For example, scanning the front of my engine to create a custom supercharger bracket. Cuz, most supercharger brackets are for BBC's. Hint, hint. :) @@transam4555

Ive been wondering if some of these newer iPhones LIDAR has the fidelity for this type of scanning. Need to get off my butt and actually research it.
Ever mess w/ a CAD freeware called Fusion 360? Ive done a few simple things on it, but nothing like some of the dynamic constraints you show...looks impressive!
I was initially concerned, but the part price isn’t too bad considering it’s 1/4”, tapped, and powdercoated...

Thanks! Yeah, I was clearly wondering the same thing you were... can our phones now scan areas to 3D model? Yup! I found out about Onshape because my company I work for uses the professional version. When I found out there's a free version, I started doing the training... as you saw, I barely scratched the surface. (Pun intended) Give it a shot! Thanks for the comment.
Hi Monty, Mike again. I know you upgraded awhile back to a direct injection on the GTO. Is there any way I can get a copy of the settings to your old, throttle body unit, so I can compare to my settings?
