The yarn I used is the craft smart brand from Michaels and I used 5mm crochet hook.
This video is not a tutorial.

I’m a 33 year old who graduated from film school 10 years ago. And I have decided to put my education to some good use!
i dont need to make a christmas cardigan... i dont need to make a christmas cardigan... i dont need to make a christmas cardigan... i dont need....
Finally, somebody else that appreciates the kitschy xmas aesthetic!! When you mentioned making this in the thrift haul, I was SO excited - now she’s here and looks gorgeous!!
Kitschy Christmas is the best!
the pearls are the cherry on top. i love it
This turned out adorable! You know if I keep watching enough of your sweater videos I might actually break down and try one myself.
The long lines of yarn on the back are floats. There are ways to catch the floats so that thy are not so long.
You've outdone yourself!
You created the cutest Holiday Cardigan, I just adore it 💖❄💜❄.
If you use small bobbins for each color it will make untangling them. If you look on The yarn council Website they have measurements for most sizes. There is no use carrying yarn if it’s not used in each row.
Your creative work is amazing. Next year,,, i will try to get back into this type of creative craft, which i hadnt done since i was 6 !!!!!. Love Wednesday show,,, you have to make the chequered top,, adding to your endless list of projects. Look forward to todays video ( sunday ) .
I love this sweater, I am a "Vintage" and I guess that's what you are calling (Kitchie )? I had to look it up and this is what I found (Kitchie is a style of art and design that was popular in the 1950s and 1960s. It is characterized by its use of bright colors, bold patterns, and kitschy motifs) Thank you
This is soooooo cute! You did a great job and working like this - figuring things out as you go - is how you learn. Typically I do this too but with knitting.
For colour knitting I never liked stringing the thread along the back so I started wrapping the colours every stitch - watching the tension of course - and it makes a much better background. I figured this out as I was making baby sweaters for my son and didn't want his fingers to get caught in the strings and hurt him.
The colors are so pretty 😍 and I agree with Buffalo check decor although I love it on pajamas lol
I think you are my favorite crocheter on the internet
Aww thank you😊🧡
That's very cute. Good job. But for me, I think the pearls would look awesome as 1 on top of each tree I stead scattering them
That is increadible 🤩 so many christmas town vibes. It looks super cute on you. I ❤️ it. You are without a doubt my favourite youtuber. Merry Christmas/Hexmas to you and your family 🎄🎉
Aww thank you😊🧡 merry Christmas to you too!
Yessssss!!!!! I want Wednesdays check sweater too!,,
Basically my dream Christmas jumper, working out if I have enough yarn to do a sweater vest version
I’d say make a matching hat with the white and pink stripes and have an aqua Pom Pom! A beret would look soooo cute but I’m biased. 😆
Adorable sweater. Just found your channel and I’m binge watching! Love to watch the process. You are so talented!
That sweater is adorable! Nicely done.
Love this cardigan! You could cut the longer strands on the back in half, and then tie two of them together and trim them.
omg i was just watching that episode with Wednesday's crochet piece last night and i said to my bf "thats really cute - i could crochet that" that'd be an awesome vlog/tutorial. but dont stress urself! one at a time - you'll finish it all soon enough.
That is lovely! The trees are perfect and the pearls just make it!
Your UFO earrings are awesome.
This couldn't be more adorable oh my god!!!
So absolutely beautiful! It turned out amazing! It reminds me of those pastel glitter houses (Puttz? Pootz?) The pearls are the cherry on top! They really pop the sky off 😆
((this needs a battery operated fairly light pack hidden in the stitches that will incentivize the lining 😜))
I should totally add lights to it!!!
So cute!!! Very winter wonderland!!!
I love this cardigan so much, I think its the best thing you have made so far, So adorable 🎁🎄🎀
So creative and adorable!
That is so stinking adorable. Great job. Certainly fits your very creative personality.
I cannot say how happy I am to have found your channel!! I love your aesthetic and your accent although you're from Canada it sounds soooo similar to that of someone from Michigan where I am originally from and it just helps with my homesickness!! I love, love, love your channel!! Keep being amazing!!
Aww thank you😊 i feel that since i live so close to the American border i don’t sound as Canadian haha
Those colors are so, so pretty!
I'm looking forward to the Wednesday sweater. I also singled it out and thought I could try to make it but uh, I'll watch you do it first.😅
😂😂
So cute.
Love this! And agree about kitschy Christmas. I love it too. But my love of Halloween has taken over the last few years and I have a Hallomas tree. 😂
I want a halloween tree!!
I love the colours. It is such a cute cardigan. The trees look like they could be made of cotton candy or those marshmallow eggs at Easter
Holy SHNIKIES that is AWESOME 😎
The sweater looks so cute!! I love the red and white striped ribbing. Very festive!
LOVE a vintage kitschy Christmas! I usually end up with the bolder color kitsch of the 70s and 80s, but the midcentury pastels are just fantastic. This is so cute!
I also have no chill with projects so I need to stop bingeing your tutorials 😭
Wow! This looks great!
Wow it's wonderful 😍🥲
LOVE IT!!!! So stinking cute!!! Just wonderful. Great job!
Love your sweater, very very cute 😍
It's really cute🧶💜
Very cute love it ❤❤👍👍
Oh my gosh I'm obsessed with the Wednesday look! I'm very excited for you to make the sweater vest!!!
WELL DONE!
It's so CUTE!!!!
Wow! Cool!!! Merry Christmas💗❤️ turned out very cute !! Love your videos, now i will watch ur video! So cuuute💗
This is so cute!!
It’s so adorable ❤
It's amazing! You're so talented 👏👏
This is ENTIRELY too cute. oh. my. god. I love it. You're like a lil candy lady. I'm obsessed with this colorway. I keep thinking about the buttons... I had an idea to paint buttons for some earrings, but I was thinking about using a nail art stamper and some kind of compatible paint (prolly nail polish) ... and then use UV resin or UV cure gel to seal it. I don't know if this is helpful at all, but like the stamp would ensure a certain level of uniformity and quality of image on the buttons and you could make different colored peppermints or snow people or snowflakes... But also don't change anything because it's *precious*. I loved it and then you put that pink and white stripe border and my heart sang. 🥰🥰
Aww thank you! And that’s a really good idea for the buttons!
@Fancy Dinosaur Tea Party your videos give me so much inspiration! Thank you for bringing us along on your thought process and sewing/crochet/crafting/thrifting journey.
Thank you for making these videos. It gives me confidence to try winging it. And Merry Christmas 🎄
Adorable!!!❤
I NEED TO MAKE ONE
Would like a tutorial on how you did the trees
amazing!!! Killed it per usual :D
So adorable!! Great job!
I hope this makes sense. When i crochet with projects i color change in. If there is a big gap between color changes. I will crochet over the carrying yarn every 6 stitches or so. So theres no big line of yarn on the ws of my project. It keeps the lines short so you dont get your hands or arms etc stuck in those long lines of yarn.
This is amazing! I love it! ❤
This is waaay too adorable!
i'm 11 months late and ready for the next winte sweater
Love it❤ I love your style and how you are into more old school Christmas. I’m dying to make a cardigan, it’s something I haven’t tried making before and I love wearing them, so I may have to take the leap and give it a go. Awesome video! ❄️ 🎄
You should definitely make a cardigan! It’s basically 5 squares sewn together! Super easy 😊
@@michelle_jasek I think I am going to give it a try🙂 I’m mostly worried about getting dimensions correct lol. I’m also not strongly skilled in mathematics. It makes my brain hurt!
Just wait there more stuff to crochet from Wednesday
I am going to try to recreate this cardigan, I love it so much! I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I will! I have never made any clothing but I do a lot of graph-ghans so we'll see 😂 also have you ever tried carrying the yarn into the stitches instead of behind them? I do that sometimes depending on the yarn or I make a bunch of little balls of yarn so I don't have to carry the yarn at all (although this option can become very tangly if you aren't careful)
You could have eliminated the lines by doing it like a tapestry stitch and hide it within the stitches. Much easier.
Just wondering, is there a reason you leave the lines of yarn out on the inside instead of crocheting it into the cardigan?
I always find that when i crochet the lines in, the colours poke through onto the good side. Also if i did crochet them in i would have to crochet over four yarn threads and i feel that each single crochet would be so bulky. If that makes sense lol
@@michelle_jasek oh yeah that makes sense
not to be rude or anything, but why do you not crochet over each of the tails of yarn? because then there wouldn't be as many lines of yarn on the back side. plus if the unused yarn shows through, you can pull it a little tight so it doesn't clump up.
I don’t do this because i find that the yarn i’m crocheting over starts peeking though on to the front 😬 so i’s rather have the mess on the inside lol
why dont you just carry the other color along on the back you know crochet over it so you have no loops of loose yarn behind on the underside? This turned out very cute tho
I’ve tried that before and the colours always poke through on the good side, so i think i’m just going to sew a lining for it!
