Drylube only don't use grease, as the threads will attract way to much dirt and grime that will be a pain in the ass later. Secondly use a digital caliper to measure preload, 3-5mm is usually good, if you put to much you will put a drag on the rollerbearings in the top hats. As a couple of weeks go by you'll need to readjust your ride height so be prepared to get consecutive alignments to get it just right
I need that & some engine mods for my 1998 GTP with 225,000 miles on it. It’s 3.8L L67 is in my house after I tore it down due to coolant leak out of rear cover. The antifreeze ate through it in 2 holes the size of a quarter.
I see a nice oil catch can, thermostat housing, new throttle body adapter plate, Cadillac CTS v calipers, the coil overs, new air wizard and something inside it 🤷♂️. Not the mass air flow sensor
OK lets see if I can get all 5. I like the strut tower brace for the GXP and those brakes tho. For the GTP, I like the oil catch can (I want/need it), the thermostat housing and of course there is the coilovers. they already talked about the Equalizer Downpipe but its new so. There is something a little different going on with that intake not sure if something new or just some personal mods??? also if u made it this far and you know what brand rims that is let me know please
I own a 2001 Olds Aurora...it’s in that group of cars that parts are compatible/cross referenced 00-05 Cadillac Deville, Buick LeSabre, Pontiac Bonneville, Pontiac Grand Prix,,,a lot of parts for these cars can be substituted.....so my question is will these coilovers fit 2001 Olds Aurora?.... Thanks in advance
Cool video! I've gotta 2000 gt coupe and at the moment it's a basket case.... really needs help w suspension, I've just received zzp Gen 2 lowering coils but the front don't have pigtail ends like the originals do, I don't think I can put em in because it looks like w out the pigtail end they won't seat in up top,, just the front are the concern,, the rear lowering coils have the pigtail end but it's the front that don't, so I'm not too sure until I take it apart,, now in this video if that's actually true about the zzp coilovers being able to adjust up to factory ride height?? I might consider these! But I'd still lower it just not an 1.5,, more like .5" bearly want lower it much., just a little should be fine 5 mine
The great thing about coilovers is that they can be adjusted to nearly any height, including stock. If you do have any issues with the lowering springs, please message us at customerservice@zzperformance.com and we can help you out!
Hey Bo. What wheel/tire combination (size and offset) are you using? I'm looking to get rid of my asymmetrical setup on my 08 GXP. That being said, are the prototype coilovers in production now? I'd rather have the new coilovers with the sway bar end links attached. Thanks
@@ZZPerformanceChannel Thanks, looking forward to getting some and will keep an eye on the website. I assume this is the trick to getting the lower spring perch out of the way on the rear.
Shouldn’t be too hard to make some, just gotta figure out your top hat. I made w body coilovers in early 2000’s out of kys agx struts, the body diameter is great for a sleeve.
Are you guys all stupid? It's a video on how to take OFF a suspension not just add one... the 3800 suspension would be totally different. If you wanna swap a 3800 out, this video is useless. The fact they did an engine swap and that this car is NOT a 3800 like the video suggests.. is at least worth a mention.
I got to say I'm pretty disappointed with my coilovers. The rears ride fine, the fronts are extremely harsh over bumps. Manhole covers and transitions between 2 road surfaces is horrible. I've tried adjusting preload and adjusting the compression. Nothing helps.
A bilstein suspension only comes on a v8 LS4.. he is NOT doing a swap on a 3800.. he took out an LS to put a 3800.. with is Crazy. But a real gtp 3800 would NOT have that suspension.. this is a LS4 V8 suspension swap.
It DOES matter lol... the video shows how to remove a suspension.. not just add a new one. You just told the world you were taking off a 3800 suspension. This is false. You took off an LS4 suspension. How would this help you take off a 3800 suspension? It would be totally different. The fact you didn't even mention you did a motor swap and this car is NOT a 3800 is at least worth a mention. The video is misleading.
@@dougbarnhart4947 There is both a 3800 vehicle and an ls4 vehicle in this video. Neither have differences in suspension, it’s only strut/spring package differences from the factory. Both share all of the same components and require nothing different.
Omg.. insane.. the stock suspension on a 3800 car would be totally different. The coil over may fit both.. but its NOT a 3800 swap he is doing. He took a LS4 with a bilstien suspension.. which only comes in the LS4 version and put a 3800 in a GXP which is V8 only...he is taking the suspension off a stock gxp V8... the stock suspension on a real 3800 would not be bilstein. It a good video.. its just not a 3800
For 3800 owners that are interested: the revised version of our coilovers that we use in this video will be available in fall, 2021.
When will you have sets for cobalts?
What's the best air ride system that will work great with this set up???

Nice a video finally over 30 seconds
Car sits just right. Great looking GXP!
Agreed!
Great video! Love see Bo and Tyler working on cars! One call out is that the grand prix 3800 06 and 07 have the older style suspension.
Strut brace, with cadillac calipers with impala LTZ wheels , stance is DOPE 🥴👍🏽

Any word on h-body coilovers?
I want these so bad for mine 😩
🔥will be my next set 4sure🔥
I installed coilovers on my 02 gp and the cv axles aren’t straight is there a way to make them straight?
If you are running lowered, the ZZP shorter dog-bones will tilt the motor forward, and improve the driveshaft angle.
Any coilovers for an H-body 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham with the Buick LN3 3800??

Do these work on 95-05 grand ams?
What are the wheels on the car?
Does the rod to top plate swivel and articulate?
The front has a pillowball mount that articulates, and the rear has a rubber top mount similar to a stock strut.
