, people in their 50s have more time because they aren't having to do as much of the heavy-duty parenting - and we all realized we have to take care of our bodies better to live a longer life (and yes, some give up things like marathoning... though, I learned to ski at 49, so....)
Bryan, I have to say that I think that you do a really good job with these vlogs. The talking bike bit cracked me up. Good music, and I love the map superimposed in the upper right side of the screen. You put a lot of detail into these, and it is much appreciated. So glad I have subscribed.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I’ve been really trying to experiment and learn Final Cut Pro. So powerful but I’m such a newbie. Thanks for subscribing.
Another fantastic trip. I enjoyed it . You're intro was great. Your hero 7 filmed great, I have a 7 hero too.. I'm gonna try and film a ride or two this month .
hey you keep talking about parking at each end at am trac parking garages. how much does the parking garages cost? i plan on starting in cumberland md. they said i could use the free parking near the c&o parking lot. what do you think? thanks
Yeah, for sure. The parking in Cumberland, under the interstate, is fine. My understanding is that the police monitor that area as well. Honestly, I don’t remember how much parking was in DC (Amtrak). I used the parking panda app and it usually has good rates. Enjoy your ride, dude!
Thanks. It’s basically two overlays in Final Cut Pro. 1) the map and then 2) a “progress image” that is slowly cropped to appear over the course of the video. I use key frames to synch it to known points on the trail. That’s the quick answer.
@@RideAlongAdventures Well, it works. And it makes it a more interesting video to watch seeing your progress and the elevations. Well done and can't wait for more.
I’m never sure how this is measured. It’s like 1800’ of gain over 22-ish miles. That’s like 2% I think. It’s not terrible. Especially coming back down. 😉
@@RideAlongAdventures Thanks, Maps always show it looking super steep but I've never seen a reading listed. I've seen 2% inn some places but assumed that was for the west side.
Beautiful.
Thanks, Ron. I agree-that trail is special.

huh - I never thought about it, but you are 100% right that going in a different direction is a totally different visual experience.
Lol. Especially that hill because coming down, you don’t see as much of it.

Thanks. I’ve started filming at a higher resolution since that video was taken. (2.7k) there is so much to learn…😉

Hi, Bryan. Great video. Kind of an off topic question: how did you add the profile progress bar overlay?

Whats the grade going form Cumberland to the divide? Great first half, will watch second half later.
