Greetings Alexwpi, i want to add up a little things aside this; this kind of bad behavioir from the community is not just dissappointing but also a demotivating way to see this actions. These types of attacks have been quite recurrent since the beginning of the entire project, including everything that was Uzuy, making Phoenix leave the project; I really don't understand why the community is toxic, especially the Android community (which is why other emulation projects will never officially come to this platform, no one wants to have an "Android kid" making noise everywhere inimical to their work, as the RPCS3 devs have already made clear) should we really abandon our hobby to please the people who attack us so gratuitously? These types of reactions and behaviors are what have always held me back from showing another part of my work and sharing them widely, like my drivers, I hope the community understands and values the effort we put into this and thinks more on their own and criticizes before to continue with favoritism towards similar people that do not cause or have meant more than problems in the last 7 months.
But is the Android community really more toxic than others? From what I see, every community has its share of toxicity-none of it justified, of course. However, this toxicity might be one of the reasons Strato hasn’t been launched yet. That might also be the reason for the abandonment of AetherSX2 or the lack of development of RPCS3 for Android. But what I mean is: what about other communities? Isn’t the PC community just as toxic as the Android community?
I appreciate the work emulation developers do, and will be the first to admit I'm way too dumb to do anything like this myself, but these reactions are why I don't understand Nintendo even tries to sue people. Paying a kid $100 Nintendo store credit to troll a developer will shut down a project faster than any cease and desist because for some reason those are who the developers listen to.
Please don't give up on the project. I'm not a programmer, but I'll help with whatever you need. You are making our dreams come true! I just have to thank you for everything.
I will never understand why anyone would go after emulation makers. You guys are unpaid game preservationists. IDK if its ninten-drones who are doing this. sounds like their MO. but I want thank you & every dev that has done so much for actual gaming.
"No backup, No mercy!" But I think the problem here could actually be that a certain game manufacturer has hired certain people to play unfairly from now on in order to delay or even prevent further developments in this direction.
there are rats in gaming, and it needs to stop!! gamers and devs are one, not divided , stop rating people out and work together, or open source is dead..
The first thing that comes to my mind is that I wouldnt expect someone who does this to be just a normal dude who dislikes the emulator or something, its either someone hired by nintendo or way more likely to be a nintendrone that thinks he works for the company
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that turned out to be true. The pikmin from the yazukanin have proven to be *the worst kind of Nealots for decades* , now. They are diseasney-level corpo-slayves and will die for their ovurlard.
They are only second-worst to diseasney. They are a disgusting company (but they play the corpo "game" a la japanese so western cnkks never find out) .
I love how emulation makes the world tremble in fear, it just shows the importance of this project, we will not stop supporting it and we will be even more present when the next pretendo console is released and if we add to that the PC port of some games (recently StarFox 64) we understand why some are biting their fingers 🤣🤣
WIth the incoming Audio update (before the attack), i was hoping that Crash team racing bug audio fixed but now i have to pray for even it get a that point again.
It's good to finally have some clear info about what's going on with Citron. I wish Zep strong nerves and all that. Having destroyed holidays just because of this is really bad. I hope everything will work out and Zep will not get discouraged by the haters. We already lost one Switch emulator to this and I hope Citron will not be another. Good luck Zep and everyone else working on keeping Citron running.

@@AlexwpiGame I'm pretty sure the video after that he corrected himself by saying he wasn't sure what had really happened, that he'd referenced the wrong website, and that the official one was back up.

@AlexwpiGame o, h of course. I didn't mean to give the implication that you did. You're both helpful people to the emulation community. he has made small mistakes in the past that he's owned up to when more details come out. So it's useful to have concise explanations to correct the record.

Hopefully things get better and zeph realises that he has plenty of supporters
Something doesn't add up. How can you lose the source code when at least one person has a local git copy of the branch they are working on? It should be easy to restore the remote git project. No developer I know would ever delete a local branch they've worked on.
This is the most puzzling thing. A local repo is always on my dev computer, which I set up as a Mega sync folder. I don't get how the source could get lost with this setup.
@donsph At the time it was reported that the code had been lost, we were still unaware of the existence of this Git clone. Once the Git clone appeared, we already had a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, the code has since been improved, and now we’ll have a definitive and stable version for Linux. The issue lies in how it unfolded on the timeline. Initially, the code was lost, with only a 14-day-old backup, and then, a few hours later, the Git clone surfaced. Now, we also have a backup stored on an external hard drive.
@@AlexwpiGame Again what you said doesn't make any sense at all. You would usually have a remote git repo and developers would clone that repo on their dev machines. Then after working on your dev machine, you either push the changes to the main branch on the remote repo, or if more than one developer works on it, push your local branch to the remote repo and submit a pull request to merge the changes to the main branch in the remote repo. You can nuke the remote repo for all we care, but the Dev's local repo would always be there. The code is being versioned using Git, not f*cking Subversion for Christ's sakes. So either the devs are morons to actual software development pratices, or someone is straight up lying.
@@donsph This is absolutely correct. New code always originate on your local computer first (duh?) so why wouldn't Zeph have the local repo ready to go right away? The local repo would have the full git history too because that's what git does. I smell foul play.

But that's it, I also saw some channels (including some famous Brazilian ones) talking nonsense without knowing, just to gain views. For these and other reasons, the list of channels related to emulation that I follow is few.

Real question... why do devs take community toxicity so seriously? Most i found (from Reddit and UA-cam mostly) are just Nintendogs bootlickers and spies tryna wrecking havoc with some stupid topics to stir up the community.
In this case, it wasn’t even the devs who took the situation seriously. Due to the lack of activation of a protection system, 3 servers were taken down, so the community REALLY wanted to take down Citron.
1- Some Nintendo defenders are willing to go this far for their favourite company, even if it hurts them 2- The Android community will not accept an incomplete app (Emulators are always being worked on) 3- The theory that the next Nintendo device might be similar enough to the Switch that emulation could happen way too soon for them to like
@@NedVedSed I disagree for the no 2. A more accurate answer is Too many yuzu forks has led to people thinking citron is the same as other yuzu forks offering nothing
It wasn't fake news, as he only questioned whether Citron was dead, but doing so after just a few hours of the server being offline might have come across as a bit sensationalist.
that is true but theres games on there that isnt available on other consoles. thats why emulator exists. dont know why nintendo wont make PC platform with it. they can just make switch software for PC so it runs like Switch and everything so no worries about making it nonexclusive.

@AlexwpiGame obrigado!! E em breve sai o novo donkey Kong tbm né.. o ryujinx greendev já pode ser considerado melhor que o último ryujinx original?
Real question... why do devs take community toxicity so seriously? Most i found (from Reddit and UA-cam mostly) are just Nintendogs bootlickers and spies tryna wrecking havoc with some stupid topics to stir up the community.
In this case, it wasn’t even the devs who took the situation seriously. Due to the lack of activation of a protection system, 3 servers were taken down, so the community REALLY wanted to take down Citron.
What's going on with the switch emulation scene. Holy shit it's a mess! Were better off modding our switch.
LMFAO! These Nintendo Fanboys are Crazy.
why do people have so much hatred for switch Emulation
1- Some Nintendo defenders are willing to go this far for their favourite company, even if it hurts them
2- The Android community will not accept an incomplete app (Emulators are always being worked on)
3- The theory that the next Nintendo device might be similar enough to the Switch that emulation could happen way too soon for them to like

I disagree for the no 2.
A more accurate answer is Too many yuzu forks has led to people thinking citron is the same as other yuzu forks offering nothing
Simplesmente um dos melhores canais sobre emulação que existe. Sempre trazendo as informações corretas e trazendo bastante conteúdo interessante
TMJ amigo, feliz ano novo para você e toda a sua família
Sujano was the worst.
I dropped that channel for good after I saw it deleting my comments. It's one of those "positivity-only" chynadian chambers.
why would you say that? hes just a news reporter.
"She"
No
.... It's called Citra.... Not Citron you dooof. Also, Yuzu and Citron are still available online... it is the internet... nothing is ever gone.
Blame Mr. Sujano for the fake news.
It wasn't fake news, as he only questioned whether Citron was dead, but doing so after just a few hours of the server being offline might have come across as a bit sensationalist.
stop being stupid and listen to what Sujano said.
This sounds more like a scam the more I hear about it.
I have the latest public version of Citron and I can tell you it is significantly better than Yuzu on my android!!!
Citron works better than Yuzu
@@prakxyzyep... But for those who doubt, let them be. I love to support the underdog project that is gonna come out on top of everything

Retired or Dead Emulators Latest right ?
also whats the exact name for citron emu
The funny part switch isnt even a good console
that is true but theres games on there that isnt available on other consoles. thats why emulator exists. dont know why nintendo wont make PC platform with it. they can just make switch software for PC so it runs like Switch and everything so no worries about making it nonexclusive.
