I was going to write a comment on Amouage Figment Man, but then remembered my Fragrantica review, so please excuse the length, but it encapsulates my experience:-
This is my first Amouage and I admit that the £115 Black Friday price tag from AllBeautyUK was an influencing factor.
Needless to say, stunning packaging!
Well, I opened and sprayed. I got the damp soil note straight away. I wanted something off the radar and it is, but boy, is this challenging and not really in a good way!
For me, armed with positive opinions from the UA-cam Frag Cartel, I thought this was a safe blind buy. However, the experience is more like going into a run-down area in wet, damp weather, in the dark and coming across an alley way behind a row of virtually derelict houses. As one strolls down the very dimly lit passage, garbage and broken glass is strewn everywhere. A broken child’s bike and numerous piles of sodden clothing and discarded carpet line the edges of the walk way and seem to have absorbed the rank stench of urine and garbage.
Imagine if you tripped over, face first in this place, what sort of odour would permeate your nostrils. Well, there you go. Welcome to Figment!
My wife came home in the evening and didn’t comment for an hour, but as she was cooking tea (bearing in mind the olfactory overload from cooking garlic, ginger etc, she asked if I was wearing something. She said that she thought that when she arrived, something smelled as if it was rotting in the corner and that she wondered if one of our dogs had had an accident on the carpet!
I would advise that although I’m pretty adventurous and love Montale Black Aoud and loads of other similarly powerful stuff, this migrates so far from my idea of a scent, that I cannot see the point. I blind buy and sometimes I like, sometimes it’s not to my taste, but that’s fine. This is “out of scope” as a wearable scent!

That’s really interesting fact about Evelyn McHale- I think Frida Khalo also painted about her. Really sad painting. To me the bottle looks like the plastic soy sauce packets that look like little fish that you get when you order sushi? 😅 very interesting video as usual 👏👏👏

You have to watch the music video, it's like a bingo card of rap cliches ... and a star wars robot. Maybe it makes sense in French? It's hard to understand another country's pop culture.

This is much needed after rat racy Monday. Can't wait for the BBC show. Will you post a link in your first 2018 video? The only Amouage I own is Reflection Woman, the dewiest and a very woody Magnolia. Crisp and clean (like your white shirt), thirst quenching. Wonder if you'd find it not mainstream enough to feel like an Amouage.

I just read an article about them, and the founder is quoted as describing them as “disruptive”, exactly as you say here. I’m not surprised by your accuracy in the least :). I’ll make a little trip to their flagship store in Sydney soon
