  • I was having under-extrusion problems from retraction on my Ender 5 Pro, so decided to try Direct Drive conversion with a better extruder.
    Needed a mount, so I made on using Blender. Printed with 3D-Fuel filament.
    The stl file is on Thingiverse:

    Hi, can you use the same cable for the extruder motor that comes with the printer?

    6 months later, how has this upgrade been performing for you? Also, do you lose any Z height? I’m thinking of upgrading my Ender 5 Pro to DD

      Excellent. PLA has been holding well. Still as solid as before. I've been printing at 100mm/s

    looks simple and effective, I did all kind of stupid stuff to the extruder and stepper motor on the x-carriage, didn't think of this, noob phase, thank for the upload.

      Sure thing. I've also made a simple dual fan setup. Take a look:

    Used your bracket and it worked great. I’m having under extrusion issues. Did the default 418 steps work for you to start calibrating?

      It'll depend on the tpu you are using, you'll have to try

    Hi, what retraction settings did you use with the direct drive ? Thanks for your time

    • @BoxandLoop
      @BoxandLoop  3 роки тому +1

      Something like 1mm. Do a retraction test to tune it
