Euclid C-6 Dozer Ripping Rock

- The National Pike Show site has a thin layer of dirt on top of an odd type of crystalline rock. At the point this video was shot, there is (was) a rock ledge which interfered with operations.
This August, one of the members brought a suitable tool, and resolved the issue.
The Euclid C-6 is half of a TC-12, with a single 6-71, and no articulation. As a "baby brother", it doesn't get as much respect, but as seen here, it's a formidable machine, with the advantage that you don't have to split it for transport.
It's interesting that this C-6 has a cable blade, but both blade tilt and the ripper are hydraulic.
There will be more video of the Northwest 6 dragline.

Beautiful machine, thank you for the great work. Looks like it's brand new and just unloaded off the truck and working a new interstate job about 50 years ago!
Owner deserves a lot of credit. I expect it was in pretty awful shape before he restored it.
Beauty. Those 6-71's sure scream. That old drag line is awesome. There's some amazing old plant there.
Beautiful machine there, love that 2 stroke sound.
I can only imagine what the big Euclide could do to that rock etc. but the little guy does a great job thanks for your video.
The Nat'l Pike Steam show will be featuring "Euclid" next August 2020. I'd sure like to see this C-6 at the show and anyone else with a Euclid.
I need to remember my hearing protection!
even the small Euclid was powerful but the big two engine one was the beast.
Those old dozers are made of good steel. They'll keep running so long as you repair them.
jon Will . And the repairs to this would be massive. It was not enough of a machine to do this job.
I would say that old C6 is doing pretty good considering, it's pulling two shanks with a hinge type ripper, in rock.
Real American work horses right there. Maybe a lot of noise but beats a pick and shovel anyday
That is a great restoration job
Hopefully the dozer operator had earplugs as those Eucs are loud!
That dragline guy aint to bad at it either, wonder who he was?
david pickhardt I thought he was rough as hell!!
wonder if any of eucs or terex still doing time about 15/20 yrs ago contractor up in south west iowa had a fleet of terex s never seen so many in one spot i imagine parts are hard to come by
Awesome machine!! Monster energy.....
the TC-12 wasn't there thsi year?
Some times i feal cable on blade makes it easeyer for leveling and some jobs because the blade floats and dosent dig down i like them better most for what i do and wish we still had option great for leveling grading off flat except back drag
D8 Size and weight?
Sounds like a two stroke diesel engine .
The only thing that GM built worth a dam were those engines.😮🇺🇸 Before they became Government Motors 😕
China motors
All that squeaking is metal grinding metal. Dozers aren't supposed to squeak.
Never seen the green machines but I like them lol different so to a cat what size dozer would this be looks pretty big
What year is it? As far as size it seems like something between a D7 or D8 from the '60's.
What kind of place is this??
C. Lassard it's Brownsville Pa. 2 Big shows a year. Always a lot of old iron working.
I drove White freightliners early 80's with v12 detroits! lots of power but loved to drink fuel.
With 12 cylinders what else could they do?
@@garethifan1034 make noise!!!

GOOD VIDEOS
that looks like my 82-30 fa hydralic but has the cable blade like my c-6
I don't know exactly which version it is. Looking at the book, I was surprised at how complicated Euclid + Terex model designation history was.
I know the owners, will ask next time I see them, or maybe they'll post an answer.
even the planetary's look like an fa or even like a 30 b model, heck look me up on Facebook my name is Henry Clark my picture is of my c-6 euc

@@justinmyslive4108...Thanks for your reply. No, it doesn't... whatsoever. You completely missed the intent of what I said, but that's alright... it really doesn't matter.
Lots of power in a 6-71. A bit of blow-by, to be sure.
