Euclid C-6 Dozer Ripping Rock

  • The National Pike Show site has a thin layer of dirt on top of an odd type of crystalline rock. At the point this video was shot, there is (was) a rock ledge which interfered with operations.
This August, one of the members brought a suitable tool, and resolved the issue.
The Euclid C-6 is half of a TC-12, with a single 6-71, and no articulation. As a "baby brother", it doesn't get as much respect, but as seen here, it's a formidable machine, with the advantage that you don't have to split it for transport.
It's interesting that this C-6 has a cable blade, but both blade tilt and the ripper are hydraulic.
There will be more video of the Northwest 6 dragline.

Beautiful machine, thank you for the great work. Looks like it's brand new and just unloaded off the truck and working a new interstate job about 50 years ago!

Owner deserves a lot of credit. I expect it was in pretty awful shape before he restored it.

I can only imagine what the big Euclide could do to that rock etc. but the little guy does a great job thanks for your video.

The Nat'l Pike Steam show will be featuring "Euclid" next August 2020. I'd sure like to see this C-6 at the show and anyone else with a Euclid.

even the small Euclid was powerful but the big two engine one was the beast.

Those old dozers are made of good steel. They'll keep running so long as you repair them.

jon Will . And the repairs to this would be massive. It was not enough of a machine to do this job.

I would say that old C6 is doing pretty good considering, it's pulling two shanks with a hinge type ripper, in rock.

I don't know exactly which version it is. Looking at the book, I was surprised at how complicated Euclid + Terex model designation history was.
I know the owners, will ask next time I see them, or maybe they'll post an answer.
