      I can't imagine how much shocks are for a Mercedes. I paid $137 for the set.

    thank you so much for these Tarago videos Chris
    there is so little information, on this model, and you know it all and explain it in such a great way👌
    i have this car and i love it so much.. my dream car!
    i feel like smaller hands are helpful with working on the Tarago 😂
    thanks again Chris! keep it up! 👍

      i have nothing but a complete feeling of faith in the reliability of this car! I'm pretty sure many Taragos have gone around Australia without much hassle
      ive just ticked over 300,000kms!!
      going strong 👌
      looking forward to the videos

    Beautiful mate, better than our Repco store 'How to' video. I noticed you didn't torque them though. Any reason why you wouldn't? Just curious as when I called Toyota about torque settings for the brake assembly they said they don't use them. Just hand tighten everything. Just found it odd is all.

      Thanks for the comment. I use the torque wrench on cylinder heads or internal engine parts. I almost always use my elbow as the torque wrench for everything else.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing it's very helpful.
    Did you change both sides? Is it necessary to change both of only one is leaking?
    Cheers

    • @chrisbiker919
      @chrisbiker919  Рік тому +1

      I would replace both. The oil in the old one will always be different viscosity then the new and affect ride.

    Hi Chris, is there rubber stopper/bumper inside the cover? And is it necessary to jack up the car up to remove the shocks?

    • @chrisbiker919
      @chrisbiker919  4 роки тому

      There is a rubber cushion on top of that cover but no bump stop inside the cover. It is not necessary to jack up the car to remove the shocks

    Have you had to replace the trailing arm bushes? I've been told mine need doing but not sure how to inspect them.

    • @chrisbiker919
      @chrisbiker919  4 роки тому +1

      I haven't had to replace mine. To inspect them you can look where the arm bolts to the frame and see if the rubber is deteriorated, also it should not have lots of play in it (side to side & back and forth)

      @@chrisbiker919 Thanks. I'll have a look at them. Not getting any symptoms and I would have gone on blissfully ignorant had it not been mentioned. I was skeptical as they said it's a major job requiring about two days and over $1500aud.

    Never wear white t shirts working on cars , wear old throw away clothes so you don’t have to wash them
