The first guy you could see all the emotions on his face. Happy, shock, and panic all at once. It's one thing to be mentally and financially ready for one kid but 3 at once changes everything.
We were eating at a restaurant with another couple. Both couples had two sons now. That night the other dad and I were holding the younger boys, both still less than one year old. Another customer waiting to be seated looked at the babies and asked if they were twins. The other dad immediately responded, “No, they have different dads.” Realizing the questions and confusion that answer might generate, I added, “They have different mothers, too.”
Had to laugh at my nephew who was taking care of his granddaughter when he felt their mother needed a break. His wife set up a vid of him trying to empty the dishwasher. Open that door and here they come. As he would move one of the three away, the other two were right there. This went on for 5 minutes. He ended up putting the girls in a playpen so he could finish. When the girls were born, I said get ready to stutter. Once the girls started crawling she knew what I meant. Twins run wild in the family and the Trips aunt is due in a month. Only one, which gave her a sigh of relief because twins run in her husband's family too.
Precious! I'm a triplet! The doctors told my parents that they would never be able to have any children, but Jesus healed my mom, and one month after praying became pregnant! No fertility drugs! Hallelujah!
What a wonderful story. They make a gorgeous couple. I believe I detected a southern accent. They seem to have a wonderful extended family who are almost as excited about the triplets. Such a beautiful scene of unity and support. Good luck you guys. I believe you guys will make great parents!
Same here, but having a single begire and after the twins, we can say it depends how they get along. My twins got along very well. Very different personality but perfect match. I've seen other mom that had to suffer endless sibling argument and fighting. Once they slept through the night we handled it well.
The room actually spun around when we were told multiple, then I punched my husband in the arm as he was holding our 1 year old in his other arm and our 5 and 6 year old stood there.....we did survive, they are all grown and great, but this moment still one of the most amazing, CONGRATS!!
I am 32 weeks with twins. When we found out it was twins, my husband was the one crying and going nuts and super happy in the ultrasound room. I had to keep calm because I had the ultrasound wand in me, lol. And I had to keep a level head because I was driving home too! 😂 I think that the woman freaks out more finding out the initial pregnancy, and the father freaks out more about the multiples. But that's just our experience!
The night before my son and his wife went for their first ultrasound. I told them i dreamt they were having 3 puppies. 2 boy puppies and a very chubby girl puppy with her fur in a stand up pony tail. They rang me thenext day at the hospital and said was I sitting down. I was. They told me they were having triplets. As the months progressed it was 2 boys and a girl
The weekend we became parents back in 1982, our (population 9,000) small town maternity ward was overwhelmed with babies - nine to be exact. Two of the nine were twin girls born the next day following the birth of our son. About four years later, small town news reports reflected the birth of triplet girls into one family’s home. Fast forward now about three more years. My son is now a second grader. I have lunch with him and his classmates about once a month. At one visit, he was sitting next to a boy when I recognized the boy’s last name. I excitedly said, “You have the triplet girls in your family!” He was a little embarrassed by the attention, but he acknowledged it was true. In my excitement of that moment, a little girl’s voice came through. I heard these words - “I have a sister.” Since our son was born, we had gotten acquainted with this family because her daddy owned an auto body repair shop. This little girl was born the day after our son, as was her sister. It was her way of telling everyone she was one of the twins - yes, the twins mentioned in the first part of my comments. It was ADORABLE!

Sometimes in some families the news of another child is not seen a positive. My own mother has had the same reaction with all my 5 pregnancies. Even though they are from the same father which we have been together for almost 18 years and we never even once have asked for any help from her or anyone. My MIL however has always been excited and happy to see our family grow , she even wants us to have more! I feel that because most females on my mother's side have been single moms with multiple fathers that the news of another child for them is more of a burden than a blessing. Stay safe and enjoy your little ones, they will grow up so fast.
Sorry to rain on the parade, but was all the paper cleared from the field and why oh why are people still letting balloons fly off into the sky? Poor old planet!
I think the same thing every time I see one of these 'reveals'. You think after starting one of the most devastating forest fires this country has seen doing a gender reveal, people would at least attempt to be a little more eco-conscious.
So happy for these families, but please, let's do the gender reveals in an ethical way. Don't scatter confetti all over the ground outside, unless it is your own yard. And please, PLEASE don't let rubber balloons go up out of your grasp. They are damaging to wildlife and can be dangerous to planes. You would get the same joyous reactions if the balloons had been connected to the boxes and properly disposed of afterward.
Man i wish i could react with such joy like that. If i was the husband in this situation i would have a meltdown in a negative way. cause my first thoughts would be the shitting, crying, sleepless nights, financial burden and no time for anything else. but i guess i have no connections to the thought of being a father.
And you would be right about all that. If you want to be a parent, then it would worth it. If not, it could be...I'll be generous and say "challenging." I had two kids 3.5 years apart and there were times I didn't think I could take one more step, I was so tired. I cannot even begin to imagine life with triplets!
My husband is an amazing father and his reaction to my last pregnancy was pretty much that. Lol. Took him a good 24hrs to come around. He got there though! Haha
