Text: Carl P. Daw, Jr.
Original Tune: C. H. H. Parry
O day of peace that dimly shines
Through all our hopes and prayers and dreams,
Guide us to justice, truth, and love,
Delivered from our selfish schemes.
May swords of hate fall from our hands,
Our hearts from envy find release,
Till by God's grace our warring world
Shall see Christ's promised reign of peace.
Then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb,
Nor shall the fierce devour the small;
As beasts and cattle calmly graze
A little child shall lead them all.
Then enemies shall learn to love,
All creatures find their true accord;
The hope of peace shall be fulfilled,
For all the earth shall know the Lord.

Truly timely for the craziness that is the year 2020
My goodness do we need to her and live into these wonderful words! Thank you.
Quite lovely. I had read of this old hymn by Baptist preacher Joshua Morse and had hoped to find a recording. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing this arrangement.
This took the lyrics of Jerusalem in a very different direction. Not a bad direction at all. But the original lyrics also have a twinge of willingness to fight to make this vision a reality. Very interesting duality. Interestingly the sword in Jerusalem was never wielded in hate. Very lovely words, vision, and musical setting of a much beloved tune.
I am very grateful for this piece of art. My very soul is singing. I feel hopeful, and some of my cynicism has been battered down, gently and lovingly overcome. Thank you.
Day of peace
Beautiful voice ❤
This is amazing! I love this arrangement.
Thank you!
Lovely Jantz.
Thank you!
@@JantzBlackMusic This was the piece I mentioned to you before Xmas. I'm looking forward to the music you're arranging for PRISM! Maybe we could do O Day of Peace in a TTBB or perhaps another original? Haven't seen the music, maybe we could tackle it as is come next Winter, but I'm quite glad you're involved in any fashion.
PS - Screw Bobby - We've Only Just Begun is a great song and you've tricked it out nicely for us!
