Great work! I have a question regarding a part number for the right side vent on dash panel on a 1969. The ones I find are not correct and are not long enough to fill the cutout or mount correctly. Maybe you can help. Thank you in advance!
Sorry I missed your questions. That is odd that you are having trouble finding one. I purchased two vents for left and right and they where the same part number. They look exactly like the original OEMs. I have not heard of two sizes of vents for 69.
Great detailed video tutorial. My dash is mainly black but has the imitation wood design at the lower area where the headlight switch is. I would like to change over to black how do you suggest I do this with the stock dash cluster without buying a new one. Can I peel it off, clean and repaint or should I just paint over or is there black trim I can lay over that? Thanks..
If I remember that area correctly, the wood trim plate has a screw post that goes through the face of the plastic dash panel. Feel behind that area between the wiper switch and the steering column for a nut. If you remove it there will be a hole left there. You will need to paint that wood trim.
Great work on that awesome car! What epoxy did you use on the cluster repair, the epoxy I tried (JB weld epoxy) didn’t get super hard like you demonstrated, it’s hard but still tacky after 4 days. I tried it twice thinking that I may have had the 50/50 mixture off but the same.
Thanks for all your videos as I restore my 69 convertible. Definitely saved me time and frustration on how to take things apart.
Glad to help
lovely stuff
Excellent performance

Very tedious,
I spent a little over an hour restoring this part of the dash but it was worth it.
