    What a beautiful labor of love you have given her. Not only have you done a top job saving this one but you've done it the right way with attention given to every detail. The icing on the cake is being able to do it with your son.

      Robert DeMilo Thanks, means a lot! We did quite a bit of work on this car and learned a lot over the years of restoring it. It was a lot of fun and good quality time spent!

    First let me say that you did an incredible job from top to bottom. Lots of money but also an insane amount of time and passion. Beautiful car at the finish. I do wish you hadn't said a Boss 302 restoration though. Having owned and sadly unloaded my own 70 Boss 302 many years ago, I look for the things that aren't correct. Early pics, I thought the shock tower reinforcing was missing but hard to see clearly, later you add it though so that's one sign. Obvious sign is the missing staggered rear shocks. Then of course the VIN tag is not a for a Boss 302 at all. I'm sure I missed other things but why go any further. Beautiful fastback made to look like a Boss 302. Again, an impressive job and a ton of upgrades. The real Boss cars are getting more and more rare but I hope to latch on to one again.

      Thanks. We had fun doing the build and made the decision early on to do all the Trans Am mods the bosses had and more (sub-frame connectors, rocker to frame connection, and extra re-enforcement on shock towers. It's a completely different car from stock, that for sure! It was invaluable father and son time :-) It may be difficult to see in the pics, but that's him at 19 yrs old on the paint gun. Proud Dad I am!

    Approximately how much money did they spend?

  • @Kimberlyexpects
    @Kimberlyexpects 7 років тому +2

    Incredible, beyond all expectations work!! But it's not really a BOSS 302 restoration, it's a 1970 Mustang fastback BOSS 302 clone restoration. I do admire that you took the time to do the shock towers, most people that build BOSS clones don't do that.
    The only thing I would have done differently would be to have installed a deluxe interior and build the car bone stock right down to the last detail, including the radio. Everything except the engine of course, that 351C will do just fine. A real BOSS 302 engine would have cost a fortune.

      +Ed Cain It took us about 4 years to do the resto. We did everything ourselves including paint, except sandblasting. A lot of fun and hard work on the weekend but we learned a lot. Went to a few shows this summer and won some trophies, haven't done anything at the track yet though! The 69 was bought but we just finished swapping the motor and put a hot 347 stroker in it. Haven't had much time yet to drive it but it goes pretty good!

    I noticed in another video that you have outriggers attached o your sub frames. Did you make them or did you get them from a vendor?

    • @OvensGarage
      @OvensGarage 7 років тому

      Eric Prout They are from global west, they are meant to tie in with their sub frame connectors but we made them work and fabbed a bit to tie in with the tin man sub frame connectors

    It looks like you may of done a good job restoring the Mustang. I know you want to keep your video short not a movie but if you do another on a little bit longer to view your slides would be nice the slides were going fast enough that it was hard to stop the video on a slide that you wanted to view other wise like I said looks really good.

    • @OvensGarage
      @OvensGarage 4 роки тому

    Sorry, I got sucked in by the title that said "Boss 302". So it's a "clone"? That's fine, but the definition of clone is an exact duplicate. A paint job and a stripe kit doesn't make it a clone. This type of resto is best described as a "tribute" car, rather than a clone. Nevertheless, nicely done for what it is...
