  • Patient positioning is one of the main key points for having a successful exam. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be very helpful in many ways, but you are on your own here when it comes to positioning.

Yes I was trained that positioning was the first step in quality imaging. Love your videos

For those wondering this phenomenon is called a "sunflare artifact" part of the standing wave artifacts.
In this case it's due to the anatomy being too close to the receivers in the coil so they get a more disproportionate amount of signal than the rest of the adjacent anatomy.
That's also why Siemens implemented the so called iPat padding in the 4 channel flex coils.
This phenomenon can happen with all coils and systems. Just put a small pad between the anatomy and the coil and this artifact dissappears.
    Good job as usual Bac!

thanks for the comment. very much agreed. proper position is one of the main key of a successful exam. with that said, fixation is not just fixation, need to do it proper also :)

Hey! Can you make a video with the sequence T2 SPACE 3D of the cervical spine and show some CSF flow artefact (when CSF goes in spinal cord artefact)

What is the different between bost gain sharp in deep resolve thanks

Deep resolve gain is a de noising mode that reduces the noise from images so you can scan worse images and make them look good.
Deep resolve sharp basically doubles the k-space so you can aquire lower resolution images and make them like you would have scanned them with a higher matrix .
