I have 2 of those old makeup cases from the 50-60s and have been trying to think of what to do with them..... bam you nailed it. Thank you so much. Absolutely beautiful.
I really like the look of the little trunk and the jewelry box after you finished them and I think adding those little legs to the jewelry box was an excellent call. So very pretty 😊
Wow! I didn’t think I would like these as much as I do. You really transformed an ugly little trunk and mailbox into beautiful pieces. Of course I shouldn’t be surprised because you always do beautiful transformations. I am going to have to buy some sea glass paint. It’s a beautiful color. Beautiful jewelry box, too. Thank you for sharing these with us!
Beautiful pieces Lisa. It just amazes me how these items transformed can turn out to be so Fantastic. As Always Nicely Done. Have a Wonderful weekend. Til the next Mar-vel-ous video Take Care Dear Sweet Friend. (Pauline S)
Of course I love them all 😊 but the last box is my favorite. I've tried the candle method & have never had any luck at all. I love the layering you do. It gives it so much interest & character. Hope you're having a great day!
New Follower here, each project was absolutely stunning! You are so very talented. Love everything you do (we have the same style😉) Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I never leave your site not inspired💕
The pieces are gorgeous! Makes me want to get a suitcase or trunk. I have a mailbox, and I am going to use your ideas. Thanks for sharing; Great video!!!❤
Purple isn’t my go to colour but perfect with what you done. I have my Dads very old RAF case, it’s metal but I could cover in calico and paint, I think it would soften the surface, love the projects and your neighbourly consideration about colour clash 💖 Thank you I needed the inspiration especially regarding my Dads case 🌸
I want to make a Dreamcatcher with an old vintage doily and a large embroidery hoop, with vintage lace, ribbons and maybe some buttons and a few bows, do you have any advice please Lisa? Lisa
Lisa, I love, love, love the vintage looking case. It's totally amazing. I really didn't like it in it's original tate, but you took it and made it beautiful !! 😊. I have a case similar to yours, but it has a round top. It would still look awesome done like yours. I like all of these, but the first one is my faviorite ❤ !!
Happy Saturday. Great projects. Do you remember CHOO CHOO bags? You might be a little young for that. The first bag reminds me of them. I love the muted colors that you used.
Have you tried watering down the Van Dike Brown. I find it’s easier to work with. It’s one of my favorite glazes. All your projects turned out beautifully ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Lisa 😊 Have you ever tried Vaseline instead of candle wax? Or ever real Bees Wax? I always have better luck with both of those vs. the candle wax, especially with the Vaseline. And you don't have to use a candle, you can literally just wipe the piece down and the paint will come off for a beautiful finish 😍 Also... I saw someone comment about watering down the VanDyke Brown glaze. Dixie Belle always reccomends to seal your piece with a clear coat before glazing just like you would seal with wax or a clear coat when using colored waxes. If you seal with a clear coat first, you will have so much more control and be able able to manipulate the glaze so much easier plus the glaze won't make your piece look "muddy". Just some food for thought 😁❣️
I absolutely love watching your videos! Every time I see one pop up I get so excited. I feel like you’ve been putting out a lot of content lately which is fantastic for me. I love trying to mimic your makeovers and you give me such great ideas at and inexpensive cost. Thank you thank you thank you for your time and for making these videos. I do have a question, have you ever used a paint in lay? IOD sells several, and they are so fun to use, I wouldn’t call them cheap, but they are worth every penny. If you haven’t heard of them or don’t know what I’m talking about let me know and I’ll explain in more detail. But basically, and you probably already know, it is actual paint that is in inlay, Versus a sticker like a transfer. I’ll tell you they are no more expensive than transfers. But you might want to try one on one on one if your projects. I think that you would absolutely love it, you do get a lot of product for the money and you can cut it up and use it on various projects ,over time, just like transfers. But they are so different than transfers and really fun. I think your audience might really enjoy watching you use one, as a suggestion. Once again thank you for your wonderful, entertaining, professional, and simply awesome projects that you let us watch. From Candace in Louisville Kentucky
